Wow, beautiful! I see that the lowest string is B, isn't that extremely low for ud? How are the other strings tuned?

There are many tunings , I personally tune my oud : F A D G C F.
if I want to play like the guy in video I tune the lowest string (some people call it 5th other call it 6th.. so confusing) anyway I tune it to very low D

I tune my ud higher: E F# B E A D. Low D is indeed also quite common, but low B i have never seen before I think.

That is a common tuning for turkish ouds, mine is arabic, it doesn't really matter. Anyway try tuning to low B, it works and your oud will sound sad and depressing :D
