Cool video, I'm not a huge fan of the styling of the ZR1 I feel the 60's stingray was the epitome of great car design and I wish they would bring that concept back a bit with this. In person though they do look good, when I was in California I saw a few and thought they were pretty cool, the engine noise was something else also.

Can somebody explain to me why the 2008, second hand Corvette zo6(30000 mileage) costs 109 000 euros, the new one must cost then something about 130 000, and that's the zo6, so the new zr1costs about 160 000 euros. This is not cheap at all. If you buy a vette, anywhere other in the US, you have just wasted a hundred thousand.

Intital price of the car,Insurance,Repair Euros just cost to much money and the fit/finish might be a little better in exotic handbuilt Euros but how many Lambo and Ferrari's do you see running around with 250K miles on them? The Corvette is designed to be driven daily and it's designed to last you don't see that with Euro exotics. You drive a Ferrari 3k miles and it's time for a 4K$ tune up.

@Janusha I've been involved with American Cars my entire life and the old tech Pushrod engines are still around for a good reason even in the Corvette they produce torque at lower RPM's than a OHC design and have fewer parts to wear out. And it's a provable fact even the best F1 and IRL drivers have a hard time competing in NASCAR. They can't handle a real car so they should stick to go karts with Honda engines

Hummers represents all that is fucked with american cars. The original humvee was built on an army contract for an insane price. The government paid so who cared what it cost. The result was simply a car. Nothing too special but atleast looks cool. But they went for a cheapass GM engine. The H2 however is a redressed GM Tahoe which is useless in any terrain, snow, sand, mud and road. Because H2 is GM it shares their ill fitted squeeky plastic quality. Its not quick, good or strong. I drive a TRX 400, LTR450, Arctic Cat Prowler 700. My father drives a Goldwing. All made for the enormous american market but built by foreigners. All the best motorcycles are Japs or Euros. USA on the other hand has Harley Davidson. Patriotism on wheels with saddlebags. Built for a generation that no longer exsists. Also under government bankruptcy protection like your cars. You see when you produce old shit.. Other, more competetive companies move in and take over.
Those fag rockets outsell Harley 100 to 1 even in USA. Porsche, Ferrari, Suzuki, Honda... all have history. They arent patriotism on wheels like Harley but they are strong competetive companies. To build a Bently takes 600 hours of hand building. The Corvette is good and all. But to call it hand built is rubbish. The guys just fit finished pieces together. Its a conveyor belt production line just like your average BMW or Audi.
at what point is anything here handbuilt ? They say on this documentary that they spend 8 minutes on the conveyor belt. You clearly have never been to the Lamborghini, Ferrari, Koenigsegg or Lotus Factories. I have. There is a reason why the Corvette is alot cheaper than the other sportscars. They mass produce it and dont use expensive materials.
lets think for a second, you are on a corvette video complaining about dodge and ford cars, and complaining about the price of a corvette when the price of a ferrari or prosche is way higher for similar performance, not to mention repairs are 3x more expensive for a porsche, and u might as well buy a new car with a ferrari. and i dont know where you live but i wouldnt move into a house that cost 60-100k (corvette) wheras youd probably be alot more comfortable in a house 150-340k (porsche-lambo)

While the american companies are stuck in a pattern of "we dont need any of your fancy technology" and "We dont need no cars that drive themselves" While ive never seen a car that drives itself.. I also very rarely see any american cars in Europe. Because they are sold on patriotism, never quality.

Intital price of the car,Insurance,Repair Euros just cost to much money and the fit/finish might be a little better in exotic handbuilt Euros but how many Lambo and Ferrari's do you see running around with 250K miles on them? The Corvette is designed to be driven daily and it's designed to last you don't see that with Euro exotics. You drive a Ferrari 3k miles and it's time for a 4K$ tune up.

Hahaha.. Its such a misconception that European cars are all Ferraris and Lambos. Lets take it down a notch. Porsche, Jaguar, Lexus, still too high quality. How about BMW, Audi, Mercedes. Still too high quality for USA to match. Fiat, Honda, Nissan, renault, Peugeot, Toyota, Skoda, Subaru.. still better quality than american cars. Ferrari and Lambo isnt even the top market. There is Pagani, Bugatti, koenigsegg.. the list goes on. There are around 50-60 top end brands out there and perhaps 2 are american. Surely they cant settle for that.
Especially now, in light of recent failures, what on earth makes americans so determined that european cars are overpriced? Too much for YOU perhaps but is anyone forcing you to buy one? People line up for 2 years for the chance to own a Ferrari. Price is the least of their worries.

@Janusha I've been involved with American Cars my entire life and the old tech Pushrod engines are still around for a good reason even in the Corvette they produce torque at lower RPM's than a OHC design and have fewer parts to wear out. And it's a provable fact even the best F1 and IRL drivers have a hard time competing in NASCAR. They can't handle a real car so they should stick to go karts with Honda engines

Lets all drive Harleys and wallowy towncars with wood panels and low mileage. A friend of mine rented a Corvette ZR1 on a trip to USA and managed to get 4 mpg out of it when he drove it hard. I dont have alot of good things to say about britain. I worked there for 7 years. Its a terribly depressing country but atleast they know good journalism.. and good cars. Hummers represents all that is fucked with american cars. The original humvee was built on an army contract for an insane price. The government paid so who cared what it cost. The result was simply a car. Nothing too special but atleast looks cool. But they went for a cheapass GM engine. The H2 however is a redressed GM Tahoe which is useless in any terrain, snow, sand, mud and road. Because H2 is GM it shares their ill fitted squeeky plastic quality. Its not quick, good or strong. Its just big.

I drive a TRX 400, LTR450, Arctic Cat Prowler 700. My father drives a Goldwing. All made for the enormous american market but built by foreigners. All the best motorcycles are Japs or Euros. To build a Bently takes 600 hours of hand building. The Corvette is good and all. But to call it hand built is rubbish. The guys just fit finished pieces together. Its a conveyor belt production line just like your average BMW or Audi.

lets think for a second, you are on a corvette video complaining about dodge and ford cars, and complaining about the price of a corvette when the price of a ferrari or prosche is way higher for similar performance, not to mention repairs are 3x more expensive for a porsche, and u might as well buy a new car with a ferrari. and i dont know where you live but i wouldnt move into a house that cost 60-100k (corvette) wheras youd probably be alot more comfortable in a house 150-340k (porsche-lambo)
