  • "You must be f***ing kidding me."

  • good looks on using the original footage and not the bastardized special edition footage

  • Retarded

  • @jedispy The more correct term is, "developmentally-delayed". Even so it is of poor taste to use that term in any other context than the mentally ill.

  • @Bureyeanne This video is mentally ill.

  • @jedispy That is so much better. Thank you.

  • @Bureyeanne You're retarded

  • @cesar10022 I prefer the term, "developmentally-delayed".

  • @Bureyeanne This is the most EPIC mormon roll on YouTube, How many anti faiths did you get with this video alone? I say AWESOME JOB. And the video makes great sense. I think the people who do not like this video were fooled to believe it was nothing more then the title. Cheers.

  • Does anyone know if any of the footage of this video was taken from an anit-smoking announcement?

  • @Smartboy8877 I don't think so. But that would make a good PSA.

  • @Smartboy8877

There already have been at least two anti-smoking announcements with the Star Wars characters. When I saw the footage of this one, I thought it might be another one and that that was what you took it from.

  • What the-?

  • This 30 second parody has left me giggling for well over 5 minutes, thank you.

  • @SonichuFan4Ever Thank you. You would be amazed how few people get it.

  • @Bureyeanne i thought it was funny. i don't get why it's so hard to grasp.

  • @Bureyeanne wait did he die of smoking cuz that would be a good psa

  • @bmprelude Now that is a good idea.

  • Whoever made this PSA video, not onyt is it idiotic, but I hope George Lucas sues you back to Genesis itself!!

  • @Halpin2006 I am sorry if I made fun of your religion. That wasn't my intent. It was to make fun of the PSA's your church did back then.

  • @Bureyeanne You are so wrong! I was never a part of that church! I just find it quite idiotic that you would use a Star Wars clip to promote a church PSA. George Lucas would never tolerate such a thing, and it's just too ridicuolous anyway, as no intelligent person would really listen to it! It only makes that church look silly, that they have to rely on a Star Wars clip to get their message across. Next time, just stick to the Turn-Or-Burn trick. That still works quite well!

  • @Halpin2006 You still don't get what I posted. This is a satire, that is parody. G-D it! I am making fun of the LDS Church's public Service announcements. This is not promotional to their church. If you read below I've go members of said church super-freaking ticked.

  • It would have been better to edit this into an anti-smoking PSA. Don't smoke or you'll end up like Darth Vader.

  • @3DPlanets This was one of my very first videos. I suppose that would have been a good idea. However consider it was made for a church activity in which people were trying to make PSA's for the church. Mine were of course the best. There was going to be prizes for 1,2,3rd but they bagged once my videos were shown.

  • @3DPlanets

That sounds line an interesting idea!

  • LMAO

    I didn't see that comming

  • @chinchobiano

Thanks this was one of my first videos from about 8 years ago.

  • @Bureyeanne OK so it's not a "real" commercial. I wondered although the end dialogue didn't quite sound right. Corny though.

  • Very funny, five stars!

  • This video is a parody of LDS TV Public Service Announcements. It is not a promotional video for the LDS church. People often get the wrong idea with this video.

  • @Bureyeanne I suggest you just drop it. This point doesn't make any sense, it's misleading, and it only makes Star Wars look bad. Get rid of this thing before George Lucas sues you into doing so!

  • @Halpin2006 Do you really think George Lucas cares about a 30 second clip on youtube? Satire is considered fair use under copyright law. If it wasn't, his legal department would be busy issuing subpoenas to all the other people who posted 30+ second Star Wars parody clips on youtube. Secondly, this clip is funny BECAUSE it is misleading.

  • To much buildup. It would be funnier if you had cut it shorter.

    A fo effort though.

  • You Son Of A Bitch

  • I am sorry if I have offended your personal beliefs. I thought that this moment in the film was about as sappy as the PSA's that aired in the 1990's.

  • i was only making a joke couse it not a psa

  • That was NOT an exercise in found footage.

First, the footage is not public domain. It is from a very well know movie.

Second, you did nothing to change the footage, nor did your addition of audio at the end bring anything of creative value to the video.

It is not satirical, so cannot fall under any parody of satire classification.

All you have done is hijacked a well known scene from a successful series of movies to push your own barrow.

You have stolen in the name of your religion.

  • Where to begin? This video is a satire of public service announcements made circa 1995 by the LDS church. It is clearly a parody within the context of an iconic movie. It is not propaganda as such. If you read the below comments many Mormons are offended by this video. Thus it certainly doesn't promote their views. This altered since in Star Wars nowhere does the voice-over or logo of said church found. Secondly the video is not from a native source. Thus I claim found footage.

  • Thanks for your comment, but your coour rant was the whole point of the video. I would have to say I am dumber for reading your comment. And it is wonderful that your comment was so informative.......NOT!

  • darn it its kinda funny stop classifing it as in its on trial!!!! just engoy

  • Right, the episode from the last movies..Sigh... Why couldn't Luke could take Vader with him with his helmet on, he could join the re-demption instead of the facial death!

  • Vader A.K.A. Annie wanted to see his son with his natural eyes just once before dieing. He also says that there is nothing that can be done to stop his death. My thinking is he was so close to death before the suit that any malfunction in the suit would cause death.

It is just as well no one would have excepted Vader's change of hart. He would have continued to be hated. Besides the death of him and the big boss signaled the end of the empire.

  • It is LDS. NOT Mormon.

It is Joseph Smith Jr. Who died for what he believed. Was given many times a chance to deny what he believed at gunpoint and even live shots fired.

As far as the golden plates being fabricated; did you know that golden plates were found under a giant rock in Turkey in 1945? That's 100 years AFTER he died. In the very spot that the Book of Mormon begins. Talk about being narrow minded. You might just look in the mirror. (If your eyesight allows).

  • Joseph Smith was so raciest he rode hundreds of miles to try to convince President Buchannan to end slavery. I suppose the whole bible is waked since Aberham was a polygamist, Moses made it clear that homosexuality was wrong. Furthermore Joseph Smith made NO MONEY off the church. He lost everything. Was given many times a chance to just deny. His prison cell didn't even have a lock on the door. he could have just ducked out. but he was not an opportunist. U were never LDS or u would have known.

  • LOL...

Okay... Not the best way to promote Christianity. Worth the effort.

But yeah was kinda hoping for something else, didn't really see the ending come

  • This video wasn't so much about promoting Christianity. It was about making a parody of LDS Public Service Announcements from the early 1990's. I was also saying that the skywalkers are a very messed up bunch. They'd make a good Jerry Springer show if they were real.

  • Ya have to look at this and chuckle a little. The saga has some real undertones in it that you'd understand if you'd grown up in the LDS faith. It doesn't hurt to have a small sense of humor sometimes. The trick is to be solid enough in your own faith that that you won't be offended by someone's interpretation of art.

  • Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

    -Epicurus

  • I'm not sure what you mean by preventing evil. Everyone is evil. Everyone is a sinner.

You have it backwards. If perfect obedience was forced then He'd be a Tyrant and oppressive dictator. Our freedom is the act of benevolence. We learn from our mistakes. Evil does not originate from God. It originates from people who choose not to follow God. He often does interfere to stop evil. The Nazis, the Soviets, the Romans etc all collapsed suddenly, even miraculously. He is our Father, and our God.

  • Even though I agree with Epicurus, you argue your point in a way that if all christians did, you would never get a bad reputation

  • No one has done more to kill Christianity than so called Christians themselves. The only folks who pratice what they preach are few and far between. They are the ones discounted as fringe A.K.A. "cultists".

Jesus personally taught never to receive money for preaching. Yet only handful of the 1500 denominations actually pratice the doctrine of NO PAYED CLERGY. If word ever got out that there is to be no payed preachers, then a lot of guys would out of a very cushy job.

  • From the documentary I just watched on Epicurus I think over all he would have liked Jesus Christ. Such as teaching that it was easier for a Rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven...and the rich man should sell all he owns... and the widows mite...etc. Both believed in living within one's means and that money didn't bring happiness. As for his personal beliefs on God. It is hard to know. All but fragments of 1 of his 300+ books were lost. Thus we are forced to take his words out of context.

  • You also argue good points. I'm just surprised at the level of maturity in these discussions. Most people would be like "god is fake lolz" or "recognize jesus as ur savier or u go to hellz lawl" or some bullshit. So kudos to all and to all an unsusually warm christmas. Which as far as I'm concerned is a secular holiday :)

  • Agreed. It is hard to find an intelligent conversation anywhere. Regardless of how superficial Christmas has become, (a holiday that has only existed in the modern context for only a few generations) at least people are doing something besides themselves. (even if it is for personal gain, it still holds sacrifice, and giving as one of the few reasonable good points in society. In short anything that encourages people to give, share, and be nice is worth preserving.

  • In essence you are writing that because there exists salt there must not be sugar. For sugar counteracts the taste of salt, yet salt exists. Therefore there is no sugar. The reality is the two are very different in existence, and chemically/biologically have little to do with each other.

  • if i ever actually saw whoever made that video...

    i would slap them

  • I live in the Pacific Northwest. Would you like to meet sometime and discuss this video in person?

  • I'm not sure what you mean by the above. However, going to a church should have NOTHING to do with it's members, and EVERYTHING to do with a personal relationship with the divine.

If you mean Christians as a whole, there are 1500 sects. They do not all think and act the same.

  • the thing is ,that i don´t beleve that there is a "divine". and as for the 1500 sects, thay all base on the fact that jesus was a divine being , a fact promoted in the the 4th century by the roman catholic church.

  • can't we leave the debates to scholars in univeristies and try to enjoy youtube for once?

  • So you wrote, "a fact ..." so you admit that Jesus was divine.

  • thats terrible! I love star wars, but thats a disgrace!

  • The point of the video is to make satire of public service announcements sponsored by the LDS church.

  • BWAHAHA, he sounds like point man off half life...

"family. isnt it about... time" fully did not see that comming haha

  • No. I disabled ratings because this isn't a video that I care about. I made it long before film/video school. Now I have graduated and make professional television. I'd rather people looked at some of my better work.

  • It appears that you are not an American. If you had been in American from about 1995-1997 you probably would have see a series of Public Service Announcements PSA's about being good neighbors and spending time with your family by the LDS church. This is a parody of those PSA's

  • I'm LDS I and I think it is very funny.

  • haha my beard is way cooler than brigham youngs

  • Awesome! Thanks man, not enough positive mormon-related videos on Youtube.

Isn't it about...time? I think they still run those on KBYU.

  • LOL

  • LOL Oh my gosh. I was like "what, it's the same thing. This isn't a paraody." Since I'm Mormon, I got it. Haha, it made me laugh though. That's funny. Good job=)

  • The origional line was Obi Wan killed your father.

  • cool segment .. very odd ending ...

  • It is a pariody of LDS (mormon) public service announcments from around 1998-2001.

  • lol vader without the mask looks like donald pleasance.

  • Dave Prower told my wife that he was deeply ashamed of his work in Star Wars. He is much more proud of his work making a traffice safty video in the UK. I actually would like to to a Jerry Springer/starwars but don't have the costumes. Talk about a screwed up family.

  • I suppose you mean Prowse? All he did was Model the suit. Sebastian Shaw is the man seen here, and The film's Sword Choreographer played Vader in the fight sequence in the second half of the movie. And of course James Earl Jones for the voice (excluding this scene)

The vid is pretty funny though.

  • Yeah, I understand there have been 4 different vadors. Hard to keep track.

  • hahahaha

from the church of jesus christ of latter day saints

  • Yes! Someone actually gets the joke.

  • Bureyeanne, I am originally from UTAH (sadly).

    I TOTALLY get it. LOL!

  • my fav movie of all time- this is definitely the most touchin moment- im sucha girl
