The real solution is fairness and justice in intl. economy. The obstacle - corporations which make a lot of money out of abuse. Example: food subsidizing in EU. How Africa can compete on the world market? But tell this to the French/German farmers... The only way out of this mess is education - again here and there.

Let me get this straight. One American Dollar a day will keep an African child alive? I assume the food would be coming from America.
First, if an American ate $1.00 worth of food a day, he would look like an ethiopian... And we grow a lot of food, so it isn't expensive.
2nd, did you know that jet fuel costs around $1,600 per GALLON? How many gallons does it take to get cargo freight to Africa?
3rd, there has to be a system in place to distribute the food or else you have more rioting.
