The test scores requiered to get into black national merit scholars is significantly lower than the normal national merit scholars. It's not a myth. If I go to a department store in a white neighbourhood, it is clean and everything is orderly. In a black neighbourhood, packages are open (stolen), the cops routinely at the store and the conditions dirty. Plus black people always walk up to me asking for hand outs. I'm not saying this in a biased way, I just see that there is a really big cultural difference between the way blacks live and the way whites live. I don't think it is white people's fault you guys live like that.

Not sure if I can agree completely, thought you do provoke thought well. in Iran, there is a law regarding university admission, requiring males/females to be exactly 50/50. Was this to help women? Doesn't seem like something Iran would do. Then I read that previously more women attended university than men. It's clearly discrimination. As much as I want equality, preference based on race is racism, based on sex is sexism, etc. That said, I wouldn't hate anyone for it, though I'm not American.

The first is the lack of money, they second is substandard education given by the public schools, the final one is the illusion that grants that are tied to income make it possible to get a better education. Fortunately I had a Catholic education and no one paid for my tuition but me and it was harder than it should be.

@Ryooken The kid i am talking about was better than my brother at soccor, But my brother was also team captain of his team and their class president. This kids is not playing college sports. The school both of them attended is a 20,000 dollar private school. He is in no way at a economic disadvantage. He hets free tuition because his dad is the basketball coach.

@OnlyTheWeakNeedHelp So he was a better player then. That's why he got in. I am not saying there was no racial motivations but being the team captain wouldn't change much what does is player skill and ability.

College is all abou proving leadership. That and good greads is what gets you in. If the kid had no plan on playing sports there the fact of how good he was wouldn't matter. So based on that statement he had no qualities better than my brother, but still got in.

@OnlyTheWeakNeedHelp Granted but scholarships and entrances are all about the best athletes. They always pick the best players. Look at how many team captains in basketball, baseball or football they pick. Look at the record do they pick the best players or the team captains?

@OnlyTheWeakNeedHelp That's your subjective opinon that isn't accurate. White people benefit from both official and unofficial affirmative action. This is a far greater benefit to white people. What affirmative action was supposed to do is level the playing field. White people have had a 400 year advantage over EVERYONE ELSE and are still gaining the advantage because white people who through slave labor were able to garner wealth and use inherentence to keep land and resources.

When your great grandfather works for free like mine did, when you grandfather serves in the military and served his nation and couldn't keep his bars dispite his being a Tuskegee airman then you can talk. When your grandmother couldn't get work accept as a maid then you can talk until then.

@OnlyTheWeakNeedHelp I don't think you quite understand or you're pretending not to what this is about. From 1619-1965 black people were slaves they worked for free. From 1873-1970 blacks were segregated and could not get jobs equal to white people. Now since I was born before 1970 I was segregated. Let's continue. While all this was going on white people were allowed to take loans buy homes and increase their wealth and their communities at the cost of non-white people. continued

@Ryooken To offset this the government decided to adopt 2 seperated civil rights acts the first in 1875 that the states ignored and the second being 1964 which the states slowly accepted thus it took about 6 years for desegregation to become the law of the land. However, that didn't stop the discrimination of the 1970s or 1980s. As for me not being a slave and allowed to work that's not a universal development unless you are going to tell me that it is. continued

The norwest ordinace in 1789 also got rid of slavery in the territory. The law of which you speak didn't get ignored as you claim, but was declared unconstituional. And as for a time in this country when black people wern't mistreated, how about, i dont know,ummmm, today maybe. Today in America how is it harder to be black. Thats the question.

What you ment was from 1619-1865. Not 1965.
Segrigation ended in 1954. not 1970. (brown V. Board of education)Be that as it may, it did take a while for it to stop. But not 16 more years. Now sence you were born in 1970 you were not segregated. Black people were also allowed to take out loans so if you want to back up that statement with some kind of fact or source im willing to look it up.
