"The Virgin Spring" is actually pretty scary -- it inspired "The Last House on the Left," in fact. So Ingmar Bergman could make a scary film if he wanted to.
I remember when there used to be hacks almost the same as Count Floyd. They were on local stations, just like SCTV is supposed to be. It was really funny on some of the really low budget ones because sometimes the same movie host dressed up like a vampire on the Saturday p.m. monster movie might be the weather man the rest of the time. Funny as heck! Once in a while, they'de get sandbagged by a turkey like this and it was funny.
OK, first of all: it's not "scary". It's SKEDDDYYY!!! I used to date a guy that reminded me so much of Joe Flaherty. Good looking and funny, but not SKEDDY. Just really talented where it counted...in the kitchen! Made a killer red sauce...Oooohh...that IS sort of skeddy...red sauce...blood...hmmmm. Miss him a lot.
@thegreatozz1 LOL, yeah, I thought the same thing. I think I was like 11. I watch this now and it just dawned on me, "Why is Dracula howling like a werewolf?" :-)
I almost bust a gut when I first saw this as a kid. Remember watching it in bed and was trying to be quiet so as not to disturb my parents. Even then I was an Ingmar Bergman buff, and was able to appreciate the parody. I can't emphasize this enough: almost falling out of your bed laughing is a memory that lasts forever.
I never saw SCTV before, but I remember count Floyd from watching the Ed Grimley cartoon when I was a kid. This is giving me some amazing nostalgia, I think I'll watch some more of this SCTV stuff.
I love finding stuff that cracked me up when I was 12 on YouTube... love you internet! I'm glad someone else loves this skit enough to upload it (even if the quality is absolutely terrible... no 1080i copies available?)
Absolutely terrible??? Really!? I mean, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE?? It seems you and "idiocrat" are given to bouts of absolute hyperbole. Looks pretty good to me. But then, I'm not Superman/woman with extra sensitive vision.
You're very welcome. So glad you enjoyed watching the video I took the time and effort to upload for people like you to enjoy - even if not flawless. Cheers!

I love these guys, they were as good or better than the SNL crew and just a bit below Python. Thanks for posting.

I just got finished watching "Hour of the Wolf" the film that this skit parodies. I've got to admit, the film was pretty good, but not scary at all.
