I thought Norm was starting to make sense, saying you don't have to say anything in particular when someone is being baptized. But then he told the caller she wasn't baptized for the remission of sins...SMH
The Church of Christ adheres to a "Cut & Paste" theology. They assume that every time you see "baptism" written in the Bible it refers to "water baptism" and that is error. Clearly John the Baptist spoke of the difference- "I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I...He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." Matt 3:11. They sing of Amazing Grace, but their legalistic salvation by "works" is not Grace at all, and it is far from Amazing.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
This is the ONLY way baptisms were recorded in the Bible.
Schaff-Herzog Religious Encyclopedia, Volume 1 page 435: "The New Testament knows only the baptism in the name of Jesus."
Hastings Dictionary of the Bible, page 88 - "It must be acknowledged that the three-fold name of Matthew 28:19 does not appear to have been used by the primitive church, but rather; in the name of Jesus, Jesus Christ or The Lord Jesus."
Britannica Encyclopedia, 11th Edition, Volume 3, page 365: "Baptism was changed from the name of Jesus to words: Father, Son & Holy Ghost in the 2nd century."
Canney Encyclopedia of Religion, Volume 2, page 53: "The early church baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus until the second century."
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Ephesians 4:5
One Lord, one faith, one baptism.
The key to the Kingdom- Baptism in the name of Jesus!

Jesus is God, manifested in the flesh.
That's why the name of Jesus is the name above all other names.
