I thank that truggy has alot of potential. Hey look at the bright-side, that truggy is under the same construction as the d8 which took the 2008 ifmar world championship. the only change is that it has bigger wheel's, taller shock tower's, truck body, wider arms and a low gear ratio for more power. Remeber that hotbodies d8 beat a lot of losi, associated, ofna, kyosho, and so on.
Sometime you don't alway's have to buy some expensive to be competive, You just have to know what you want to do for that day of racing. Remember that car hara was racing was the lease expensive of the bunch and he was still able to bring home the gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ughh.. the driver wasnt too impressive and it seems the truggy was having a hard time throught he bumps.. though the price is in my spending rage.. eeee
There's always debates on what truck you should get. But you can easily be competitive with any of the major brands. Whether that be Losi, Mugen, Xray, Associated, Hot Bodies, Jammin, etc. What should decided the truck you want really is parts support and what your local hobbies store carries. In my opinion Losi and Mugen seem to have the top truggies at the moment, with Hot Bodies and Associated a close second but thats me. I will be honest with you though, I think the you should avoid Hyper ST

He mentioned that he wants a mugen (5t) or HB...So i suggested to him, the mugen truggy (mbx6t.
By all means, i would get the RC8T over all of those, because i love associated! :P
