its a pity you lost the closing seconds, but its still a great post. cheers! If he'd have gone straight into 'Supper's Ready', that would have been something. :-)
I think Steve Hackett can probably decide best how fast to play, seeing as he wrote it. But, I'm sure he appreciates your opinion as you sit on your computer criticizing him.
@blindskull look into Steve Howe's work. and if you like classical guitar, search for some Hector Villalobos compositions or Antonio Lauro's work. anything by Bach for lute of ported to guitar is also nice on the ears. For great performances try Ana Vidovic for example.. I personally like to listen to different guitarist's performances of a same composition. Some artists pay real homage to a composers intention. I enjoy anyone that makes a tune his/her own
Thanks dokidok, that is exactly what I meant. I only wish I could write something as beautiful as this, but the original recorded version on Foxtrot is so perfectly played and moving that it doesn't need to be rushed. It's not an easy piece to play.
Someday I'll try posting myself playing this. I need to figure out the middle part. Steve Hackett is an amazing player and one of my favorites and I'm not trying to compare myself to him at all, believe me.
horizons is no love song...it's an acoustic rock song...you have to bring feelings in it but not that feelings most ppl are expecting...it's no love son
It's not a matter of love or not, but a matter of speed.
I understand pretty well that gmankool is talking about speed. Sure that Steve is playing the tune fast here, and it could cause a lack of emotion (what he named "feeling I guess".
So guys I think you misunderstood what he probably meant.
Good so beautifull but i prefer Steve Howe ¡¡¡

I know he wrote this, but he rushes it in too many spots and it loses the feeling for me.

And I do agree with him in a way.

why does people marking gmankool's comment as poor? he's just saying what he think about this performance, it's not like it's spam or anything.
