We harvest king crab in southeast alaska too. These crab would all be returned to the water because they are undersize, and if caught with them by fish and game it would be a big fine. just sayin...
@halibutty your crab in southeast Alaska are bigger than ours. Our red king crab in the Norton Sound area are smaller... and yes we did throw back the smaller ones.
Oh yes lets just scare the animals to death before we eat them .......... sheesh! Do you have to yell when you bring them up? Do you have to throw them around on the snow? Seriously ..... do you have to do any of that?
I enjoy your Alaska Videos. I hope to see more of what is like in the lives of ordinary people. Its ok to see what visitors can do up there, but it is far more interesting to see life in Alaska in my opinion.
Kodiak used to be king crab capital of the world. For whatever reasons, we hardly have any left anymore.

@irich62 No, they are Alaska Red King Crab. Born and raised here, I'd know. We don't get snow crab off of our coasts in Nome, Alaska
