Yeah, things get a lot easier when the processing core can map its environment into quantifiable objects. A few choice bits of coding to get it to recognize certain shapes and presto, you've got a fairly capable robot. Add a couple of arms and algorithms to drive their behavior and you've got SUPER ROBOSERVANT!!!

It might seem like you can strap on a kinect and turn just about anything into a fully self navagating robot. NOT THE CASE. This is high tech stuff!
