And personally, I love A Christmas Story far more than It's A Wonderful Life, because it captures a helluva lot more about Christmas than anything else: as a child you pour all your hope and dream into some little materialistic gift, like it'll unlock all your wildest fantasies and make everything bad in your life go away. Then you get exactly what you want... and it's just another toy. Oh, fudge.
Another excellent list. A lot of people just want Christmas themed movies or movies dealing with the mythology of Christmas and its traditions, but I like how you included films that are stories about people *during* Christmas, and the unique circumstances that entails.
I was going to say Scrooged was WAY too low ... but what a list that followed!!! Bad Santa and Elf shouldn't be there. Two of my favourites as a kid were Mickey's Christmas Carol and the Donald Duck short where he got into a battle with Chip and Dale military-style (with toys and decorations).
So, its the Xmas season. How could I not have made this?
