Tornado of Souls, This Was My Life, Countdown to Extinction, really the whole Youthanasia album (besides Victory), A Secret Place, Almost Honest, Trust (maybe), I'll Be There (kinda light, but the lyrics are fantastic), Time: The Beginning (amazing ballad), Losing My Senses, Disconnect, The Hardest Part of Letting Go... Sealed With a Kiss and The Right to Go Insane. Those are just a few of my favorite Megadeth songs lyrically, hope it helped!

True Marty is memorable but when they say best, and Mustaine himself said Broderick was the best yet, they are talking in terms of playing ability, not necessarily creativity in writing. Broderick can nail all those solo's that Marty and Poland laid down all while still smiling at the fans lol.

On top of this, Marty wasn't as good as Poland as far as writing for Megadeth imo. Chris Poland had THE MEGADETH STYLE down to a T. His solo work in Good Mourning/Black Friday alone..

Ah that's actually an amazing point. I never noticed how close to Mustaines style Poland really was, or visa versa. I suppose you're right in the fact that Marty definitely spiced it up and those are both really good song examples too. I do think Tornado of Souls is slightly over rated as the only part that really sticks with me is the part that everybody tries to tap when they cover it while Friedman doesn't.

My favorite Megadeth solo is the end solo of Looking Down the Cross.
