  • The great examples are my mixes macdjmarco @ soundcloud check it out

  • cocaine?

  • what are those cdjs's???

  • @FeloFilms CDJ 800 mk 2's I beleive.

  • Shut up and do what you gotta do, you talk a lot dammn

  • Flawless beatmatching without headphones...we are not worthy!

  • what if you want to mix Chillout Trance into Trancestep into Liquidfunk into Hard Trance. They all are the same melodically but the beats and bpm are completly different.

  • The name of the songs please.

  • I actually do that... With Minimal, Tech-House, and Techno...

  • As they say 'variety is the spice of life'

    !

  • yeah he speaks the truth. Hell, if you have a steady hand on the tempo slider you could even go from house to dubstep or house to glitch hop.

  • Bloke, you're doing too much blow!

  • whats the first song?

  • whats that set called?

  • very very very useful!

  • ok, so what have i proved here ... probably absolutly nothing

  • LOVE YOUR VIDS!

  • your videos are brilliant, you are a great DJ and a great teacher.

  • how do you spell the name of the last track?? i cant find it anywhere ) :

  • @Catalyst8D Highs & Lows - Danny Dove & Richard Searle

  • alrighty i'll have shot.

  • He has the same voice of Euan from Off Centre!

  • can i send u a short mix 2 minutes 4 songs mash up? just wanna get your opinion

  • fala menos pa!

  • I had my first gig the other night. Now I did a 18th birthday for this young girl. This young girl gave me a list of songs she wanted to hear. Now I did have a lot of the songs and I played some of them, just ran out of time to play all of her songs. Now should I focus on her list of music or should I focus more on the mix so it all sounds good together. I mixed all kinda of genres just not all the songs she had wrote down. What should I do for next time?

  • @only1clover Focus on the mix. Always. How the mix sounds is the most important, don't lose your time on performance. Better have a simple melodic mix than an horrible sounding mashup.

  • Thanks to those of you that replied to my post. Figured I would update. I ended up with a Numark DXM09 with Traktor Scratch Pro 2. Works well enough. Just trying to see what others are doing out there since the only way I have to learn is through myself and good ol GOOGLE!

  • I'd like to say Thank you, Ellaskins! You help and inspire me and probably alot of other dj's to get alot better! And we all appreciate that!

  • Man, do you own EVERY single piece of Dj equipment ?! lol

  • @HalfBakedDj Hi. He owns some of the equipment but he gets sent a lot of stuff to test & do demo videos of, but then he has to give most of it back. Peace.

  • So... What if you use MP3 over CD? I am just getting into this scene (LOVE IT so far), and am trying to learn as much as I can before purchasing my first mixer. Will getting just a mixer suffice for MP3 use?

  • @psillyme1 get a 'controller'

  • @psillyme1

look up Traktor Kontrol S4 its what i have its perfect for beginners and professionals alike. it works with mp3s but you can add additional turntables and use the s4 as a mixer, if you want to graduate to cds or vinyls.

  • 27 ppl unknowingly wished themselves harm by unliking this video...

  • top notch again - cheers!

  • Lmao!! This guy is sick xD

  • As long as you stay within a good range of BPM you can mix anything, with a little effect's wizardry!! Going from low to high BPM can be a bit tricky!

  • @ellaskins Can you help me??i do practice on house and trance music.the only thing that its difficult are the songs with a lot of lyrics!(hip hop and club music). i don't know how and when can i mix them!please answer me! sry 4 my english !

  • I do this a lot!!! its reall effective i like mixing electro house with dubstep

  • this guy deserves noble peace prize really pro

  • I cant do a video response b/c the set is too long..... but is this kinda what you're talking about: Go to soundcloud > search Duhani > its the Master Mix Live Set (youtube wont let me put in a link....)

  • very helpfull video thanks

  • "I'm sitting on a speaker here"

  • what type of turntables is he useing? just so you guys know I am a complete noob haha

  • @DreadHarper3 Pioneer CDJ800 MK2's

  • your a bit rude?

  • Comment removed

  • /watch?v=tSjs7J72KBY

  • I have seen a couple of your lessons on you tube. It's helped me a lot. Now I am using s4. Have you made any video lessons on traktor s4. I really respect you sir.

  • subbed after the house drop =)

  • I'm new to this. I was wondering if you know any good cd turntables under 300 bucks? (with 2 turntables) by the way good video and it helped alot.

  • Here another little example of this video in REAL action :)

    watch?v=9bN6MDFORlg

  • you seem angry...

and I certainly understand why, I'm sick of people being genre natzis. I asked an older experienced dj for advise on my set once, and he told me to avoid songs with vocals... I mean honestly...the concept is facism.

  • I appreciate your mix, but why do you put your hand to your mouth so often?

  • "Your Gonna Get Shot" ha ha lol

  • So were your bpms on your pioneers identical? Were they displaying the same number?

  • bung it!

  • I looove your videos! I just ordered my own set and I have been watching soo many of your videos. Really motivating :) Ur amazing!

  • Top stuff mate, props. Got a good presenting style too :)

  • He's doing it to teach people you fucking idiots, how can he teach if he doesn't talk! loads of respect for this guy he doesn't have to share anything he knows...

  • good job man

  • for all the idiots who don't want to listen you'll never learn anything

  • @DJRayProductions Have you Never heard about learning by doing?

  • @tuttar3 of course but you're not going to do anything with out having listened to someone tell you something about how it should be done, and if you think long a hard about this you'll understand that I'm right in what I've stated here.

  • dnb is most likely 170 almost never 180 bpm

  • 4.40 the mix start if u don't like the long long long long long talk =)

  • you like to talk to much

  • @musiclistern hahaha go fuck your mom.

  • It would be better if he would go right to the point from beginning

  • if they don't know the difference whats the point in doing it in the first place

  • So cool to actually watch how it is done, since when your clubbing u normally dont stand and watch the DJ actually mix. I have a lot of respect for DJs who actually mix and not just press play on a Cd player. Very neat to watch!

  • i was wondering if you could do a video about mixing something like Dubstep into hard style or something crazy like that

  • coke fiend

  • @lyskar haha

  • very very good demostration!!

  • thats so sick

  • I love this guy jaja. when he say:four track is topazz new millenium.....this guy is a lover house classic, your songs thats incredible. Thank for you help and aprecciate more your work. regards from barcelona.

Please make a more videos for beatmathing. I,m a dj of school house music but I learn whith virtual dijing and I will like mixing more whith of old school, whith my ears and not whith my eyes. I tryed all days, but i need more tutorial, thanks for all.

  • i've found that you don't have to pay so much attention to the bpm as long as you switch songs/genres on beat. i.e. you're playing a 128 bpm 4/4 house song, as long as you switch the song on the 4th beat of the break (1-4 measure of no bass/usually vocals) you can switch it to a 70 bpm 4/4 dubstep song. aslong as you switch it on beat of the first song, the change in bpm can fuck the audience up xP but you showed exactly what i said, you just didn't have to take 8 minutes of talking to do it :]

  • too muck talking .show some action

  • My name is Eric and i am talented on mixing house music with CDJ pioneer 400/800/1000 etc or virtual dj . But my family is really poor and i cant buy those CDJ to have them in my Room. Also i did search for a job but without dj.License noone hires me. The license is like 500 euros to do it and the CDJ are like 900 euro . And i am asking if anyone plz can help me with some CDJ and a DJM plz. Cuz mixing or being dj is my dream. My e-mail is m.erdit@yahoo.com

  • @H3adCoLL3ct0R Get a job buddy, nothing is free

  • @H3adCoLL3ct0R

    hahahaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • That bit ticked me @50 when he says if you walk into a night club that plays drum and base and they throw in Aga Doo! lol

  • We have a couple examples of mixing many genres. its improved so its a lil sketchy but let us know whatcha all think!

  • is it better to catogorize your cd's by genre's

or by something else... like remix's or names ???

  • @sorryimguilty genres and if u can count the bpms and write them either on the cover...unless ur using serato or taktor

  • to the person reading this, are you a beginner dj? watching more of this guy is what you should do, I'm sure many dj's would recommend that.

  • He's ski-ed Up obviously talking a mile a minute and reaching for his nose every few seconds trying to get that next drop...... eh?

  • shut up & get on with it. Crank it up as well :-)

  • I always try to mix different genre's together as it you're right it does make things more interesting. I mixed an indie song with a hip hop song the other day and people were still loving it! Just goes to show as long as it's got drums then people'll dance to it.

  • Great info, but you need to show the detail of working your equipment.

  • Nice tutorial! What you sey to my first 2 mix with virtual dj! PM

  • Thank you for these videos, they are all very helpful. Have learnt a lot from them

  • lol... are those airsoft guns in the corner over there? xD

  • I start my (noob) sets with Italo disco :D

  • You, my friend, are a lovely, lovely man. I would buy you a pint or tway if ever I met you in a licensed drinking etablissment.

  • Hi, i mix dubstep dnb and jungle, i find to mix between the genres sucessfully i introduce a break down, in other words and track with an odd or long build up, for instance, dub to jungle, ill finish my 'dub set' if you will with 'ganja dub' by sukh knight and mix it into the beginning of 'wardance' (serial killaz remix) by rebel mc. is this really really weird? and also can i do proffessional gigs without any bass speakers, like with just 4 180 watt active speakers? cheers mate.

  • thats tuff asssssssssssss

  • do you have a tutorial about mixing songs with totally different BPMs in a set? like slowing down the song live so that it sounds good and that they'll fit together?

  • tiny little snippets. haha forsure bro i feel you. Thts what i do. progressive house up to electro maybe some trance hack to house... yup yup

  • what's uis the title of track in 6,42??

  • on the gear mate

  • class m8

  • potatoe!!!!

  • nice experimentation! that was a good live set

  • Thanks for the advice. I like playing house but I love playing electro house and I didn't think it was going to work but I mixed in an electro house and a fellow DJ loved it.

  • omfg!11...have been liooking for a vid of dance dj tutorial..thanks for existing dude :)

  • You rock man! Great video!

  • honestly that is the exact way i dj. Its mostly house and hardcore techno, but i sometimes throw in some trance and club hip hop in the mix.

as of rite now i have no way of recording a video but i will work on it for everyone.

    Practice and NJOY !!!!!

  • Screw what "genre" a club plays, I say. I'll play what I want. In my opinion, if a place hires me to DJ, they are hiring me to play tunes I like. I don't wanna be a radio come alive. :) That said, I'll play a bunch of genres. Whatever sounds good to me and I can find a way to mix in, I'll play it. I'm not against Anthony and the Imperials and SebastiAn in the same set.

  • @slytown surely when u get booked to play in a club they will ask what type of music u mix

  • Obviously I'll stick generally to a genre. For me it's disco house. But I like it when DJs break up the monotony a little bit. Makes a set more interesting. And the fact that I don't really love genres but artists more.

  • @slytown sorry mate but thats the wrong attitude!!! you playing music for other people not yourself!!

  • So what's the right attitude? Only Dj using vinyl and "get a feel for the crowd"?

  • No they aren't actually. If a club hires you to do a gig they are doing so for you to play tunes for the CROWD, not yourself.

  • wow! sitting on speaker...

this should help mixing easier coz I can FEEL the BEAT :D

  • @gotchastudio Ya its alot like It's All Gone Pete Tong, cept with out the flip-flop concept LOL Keep up the great work Ellaskins!!!

  • "You'll probably get shot..." FLOL Legend.

  • Thank you so much for all your help ellaskins. I appreciate it bro. Much love.

  • ebay is a great place 2 start
