  • i can live on food + my computer + warm sleeping bag + encrypted drive full of loli + boat

  • Im from the city this is crazy shit

  • I loath and hate the term "significant others" It is so PC and so dehumanising only a friggin commie could have come up with it.

  • What to do with the silver? haha yeah right...

  • what are some ways to make money while living aboard like taking people places or fishing i know you need a few licenses to do that but what are some other ways to work that wont tie you down to staying in one place like one port?

  • @Animehem I know of a wide variety of ways that people make money. I good friend makes jewelry from on board and sells/ships all over the world from whereever she happens to be. I know marine techs, writers, editors, photographers, and so forth. With modern technologies, there are a wide variety of options - in some cases people wouldn't even know you'd left!

  • @Animehem thankyou so much for your fast reply i was just doing a little brainstorming and i was hoping to get some similar ideas to make them seem more believable now i believe i can do this and make my dreams come true. I was hoping there were a lot of ways to make money without having to stay in one place for very long. Thanks again for the information :)

  • We leave in 10 weeks. We've decided to homeschool our 11 year old and take off. This will be our legacy to him. I enjoyed your video!

  • This is me and Fiances dream, but we know nothing about boats, he he he live in AZ. no water just sand.

  • Great stuff..my husband and I have been living and cruising aboard our Westsail 32 for many years and wouldn't live any other way..but I don't know how you do it in Boston..too cold for me..we're in California..

  • I like that he calls it :material trappings". Wow, he is so right.

  • I'm currently planing on living aboard in 2-3 years right after college. I currently live in an RV so I am used to living in small quarters. I love the ocean and have always wanted to live on or near it.

Now here's the question, What type of boat should I buy? I'm not never comfortable about living alone on a sailboat, So i've been looking and 40'+ Motor Yachts, They are fairly cheap, costly around $25,000 but is it a good idea.

I live in Southern California if that helps.

  • @kingtorm2 well that's big living for someone right out of college. A 40' yacht is serious boat. be sure to check out the interviews (Parts I and II) on choosing a boat, and if interested, pick up Essentials of Living Aboard a Boat book. Boating is a very personal thing. If you are drawn to large spacious boats, bring it on. The larger the boat, the more money to maintain, etc. And find a broker you trust to help you narrow down the right boat for you. Best of luck,

  • It is hard for someone to let go of all the things and items they think they need but if they let go of things slowly it sometimes works out. But like he said people cant be forced to live a way they don't want to, it does need to come from within the urge and desire to live on board. If they can do it they will love every second of the life style. The hard part is learning to live without all the clutter of random stuff we think we need.

  • Do these people work? Or are they just independently wealthy?

  • @ephesus Some of these folks work - one consults from the boat, another actually travels for work and returns to the boat as his home base and to take 1 to 2 week leaves from civilization, and another is retired service with a small pension and lives pretty cheaply. None of these folks are living large - each with modest accommodations and an amazing work ethic.

  • Well...we will officially be living aboard next month!

  • @TheLiveaboards

    Are you yet?

    How is it?

  • Cheaper, beautiful, fun... why live in a house!

  • This is my dream to. Just the money : (

  • thank you and welcome! great lifestyle and wonderful locations.

  • these are great videos, I plan on living aboard once I graduate college. I plan on moving to beautiful florida or carolina and being a yacht broker.
