  • You mean the open string back beats. Notice these same three notes from the trebles are also fretted on the 2nd through 4th strings at times. I may slide them around, hammer or pull off to these notes. If you look at the basses you may notice the open E and A, as well as the C. Interesting that these notes are part of the "Em" & "Cmaj7" chords used. They are also in the "A9" "Am9" the "Db half dim" etc., but we won't go there with this simple samba. Oh yeah, and they just feel good, too. ;-)

  • ... and they are chimed at the octave harmonic...and bent behind the nut. I really do get a great deal of mileage from that set of three notes. They feel good to my ears in this setting. Thanks much!!!
