Retail stores will try to spin the poor sales. One way the stats will be inflated (biases towards the upside) is that retailers will be comparing "same-store sales". This invites "survivorship bias". As an example, if a town had 100 stores last year and has only 90 stores this year because 10 stores closed... then the remaining 90 stores will report higher sales compared to last year, simply because their competition has folded. Just another statistical "trick" to "hide the decline".

For combatbarbie2u Canada will give you lots of trouble about your guns if youre not careful. Some can be brought in for hunting if you do enough paperwork. As far as transporting across the country you would need to contact the Canadian authorities in advance to see what paperwork is required. Or you could ship from an FFL in your state to an FFL in Alaska but htose shipments have to go overnight & that would be very expensive.

Reserve currency status is the ONLY thing which gives our money any value, it's probably true that we invaded iraq to preserve that status. Now Iran is doing the same thing, and I think our leaders are weighing their options, can they still get us on board for another war? If not, can they withstand the Iranian oil bourse? Iran has no nukes and isn't trying to get them according to the IAEA.

There is an interesting thing going on in California and that is with Kohl's. They are drastically expanding their stores in California, I know in my area they snapped up a couple of old Mervin's stores. I think the total new stores they added in Calif. is 30.

Large Malls are also affected and will face the possibility of closure. One interesting fact is a mall close to the Mexican border that is a 3 level mall that is popping with no signs of any recession while 20 miles north a large mall is hurting bad with many vacancies and little shoppers.

For combatbarbie2u Canada will give you lots of trouble about your guns if youre not careful. Some can be brought in for hunting if you do enough paperwork. As far as transporting across the country you would need to contact the Canadian authorities in advance to see what paperwork is required. Or you could ship from an FFL in your state to an FFL in Alaska but htose shipments have to go overnight & that would be very expensive.

There has been speculation of mass layoffs after Christmas. I've also recently read that the TARP will continue until late 2010. I don't get it, where is the money going to come from?
When we went out for a drive today, we noticed how surreal things are getting: homes are all for sale, stores are shutting down. It's like the Twilight Zone.
Some speculate that these businesses are all just holding on for dear life.

Hi Demcad. I just got back from a week in Michigan. Its prett y grim there, no jobs or prospects for jobs. Half of my wifes relatives there are unemployed. Things are getting desperate for a lot of people. I wouldnt be surprised to see civil unrest in Detroit before the end of the year.

You can choose what videos you are going to get paid for and the ones you will not.
So you can speak your mind. With, that said do not depend on the income, if you become dependent on it you will fall into the corporate trap. That is the key to not being a slave, remain independent.
Just do this what ever money comes in put into silver and pretend you are not making it. This way if the threaten to take away your income it's irrelevant. :)

Hum not all in silver that would be silly. I have choose other things for my sawyer stash (lost reference). Guns and ammo will be worth more than gold and silver. Why? Do I even have to say why? Hungry people can't eat a bar of silver or jewelery. Forget wealth and buy survival stuff and items that you can trade for. A can of tuna or box of mac & cheese will prob be worth more than an ounce of silver. In an all our red dawn scenerio etc etc, in theory.

Yea I know that I didn't say buy any. My point is don't just buy silver that would be a disaster if 90 days of food, firearms and a few 1000 rounds of ammo is not stored. If you live in a tyrannical area that does not allow guns then move cause the weak sheep will get slaughtered first. There are scenerios where gold & silver would be totally useless for a period of time.

Sweet in the sense that it wakes more people up of the Economic crisis, people to prepare more and shop smarter...including buying more necessities, and to get ready and also think thru things and issues that will arise when the United States and the world system does collapse.
