  • Hi Julie,

I started playing classical guitar last year after a 17 year hiatus. It is so nice to see you improve from a beginner to a fine intermediate guitarist. Keep up the good work! BTW, your musical phrasing and tone have improved a lot.

  • Thanks, canonmj! Please let me know when you post your video.

    Ciao,

    Julie

  • Nice piece of music. and great playing.

  • Thanks a lot, Jimmy!

  • I know David Qualey very well in the late nineties. He was a teacher of me on a summer course in France. I think we were only three of four pupil for him during ten days and we had a very good time and learned much! Thank you for the rendition of a song og him you're playing so well!

  • Oh I made mistakes : I knew David Qualey... three or four pupils... of a song of him...

  • Thanks a lot, Marguerite!

    Regards,

    Julie

  • Just as long as you make that "oops" look, and smile, I am ok with it.

  • You know I will. I have been praciticing on Romance. I have never performed for anyone before, except my kids when they were little. They were easy to fool..... You know I have dreams of building a music ranch, with studio, stage, and annual events. Would love to have yoiu perform some day. I am hoping to be pretty well established within a couple of years.

  • That sounds exciting! Music ranch or not, I'll be there to play. Just ignore my perpetual mistakes.

  • Hi Julie, It's a long story, but, botton line is any recording equipment I have is in storage in Santa Ana and or In a cargo trailer I left in Texas last year. I am between places now and trying to buy in San Bernardino. Want to keep a light load until I am ready to settle for once,

  • So you'll settle here in California. That's cool, Bro! Ok, just keep practicing 'coz I know one of these days you'll post your videos. I'll patiently wait.

  • Thank you too, just for being interested....

  • Well thanks for the smile anyways.... Now get to work....

  • Are you going to share your version of Malagueña to us, Bro? I hope so.

  • That answer was way too long huh?

  • You laugh at Malaguena and that is one of the songs I fake at right now. Enjoy your practice Sis!

  • Ooops.

  • And you do seem to be enjoying yourself. You have given me direction and a whole different outlook on the classical guitar. Now it is all about formulating a plan to focus on the whole estudio discipline of Ferdinand, Andres, and thier whole crew. It is a big commitment.

  • Thanks a lot. Do you have a teacher? Book? I started using Frederick Noad's Book #1. There are a lot of great pieces there. I remember being proud when I could play the student version of Malagueña from that book. LOL! I posted it here on YT, then a guy told me it's not the "real" one. I removed it. LOL. Live one day at a time, Jeff Bro. Time for me to practice. Catch you again.

  • Well you know, it's like I need to find the proper structure. I've been searching, but find myself going in circles, or sidetracked by youtube. I get at least 2 hours a day, but, you would be appauled at my poor habits.

  • Well, for me the important thing is to have fun. :)

  • I find myself humming Santa Cruz when I am cooking and cleaning. Really brings a smile.

  • Thanks, Bro! Sounds like you had a productive day. Have you been practicing, though? :)

  • molto bello. Brava *****

  • Mille grazie, Bruno!

    Ciao,

  • Youtube rules!!! Who would've ever thought pure enjoyment could be achieved by a couple of keystrokes.... Thanks Julie

  • A couple of keystrokes and three months of hard work. Thanks for watching, Jeff!

  • It seems that your right hand don't move at all, and these sounds come from heaven!

    Alex
