my mom and uncle lived during this time. they always tell me wild stories of stuff they did, all the great music and stories. i wish i lived back then cuz now everything sucks. that was the best music ever. the ppl at that crowd of '69 took care of each other and had a great time. that doesnt happen anymore. fuck rap.
Yes, so did The Band, Grateful Dead, Richie Havens, Santana, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Sly & the Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and Neil Young. And not to be picky, but for future reference it's Jimi Hendrix.
anyone here heard of Rainbow Gathering? i hope this movie fills everyone with the spirit of what woodstock people are like. please do us justice modern society please? I just got back and can't wait to see this movie. lovin you family! peace to all
im just worried that all the douchebags into sublime who think they're die hard fans of this kind of thing because they can name more than one song by bob marley are gonna crowd the theater.
Yeah, I know. I can guarantee there are going to be a ton of them there. Then afterwards it will be all like "OH MY GOD! THAT WAS THE BEST MOVIE EVER! -puts into 'favorite movies' in facebook profile- YEAH I'M SERIOUSLY IN LOVE WITH DEMETRI MARTIN AND THE 60S AND OTHER COOL STUFF NOW." Ohh, I can see it now.
yeah dude i figured that...thats awesome man that your parents were there...i wouldve done anything just to be theree man, i cannot wait to see the movie..i bought "woodstock" last weekend and it was amazing so im excited to go to the theaters in august..are your parents in the movie?
No mate its not the same. I have that one called simply "Woodstock" that one was recently rereleased but was originally out first in 1971. This one is brand new. Im with everyone though. Cant hardly wait to see it. My parents were there, both of them. So it hits home for me.
I am from Woodstock. I wonder if they will relay that Lang (curly black haired promoter - Woodstock Ventures) literally bankrupted the city with Woodstock 69. He then did it again in 94...stupid us we let him again. I worked in law enforcement for 94.
it's kind of sad that to get a large audience in america the trailer has to hide all of the film's gay content. much of this story is about the main character coming to terms with his homosexuality - and it even includes the stonewall riots.
Yeah, I checked out this trailer after seeing about it in the New York Time's summer movie section. It was mentioned there that the character is a closeted homosexual, and I was very surprised that there is no mention of it in the trailer.
Can't be done, Nothing will ever be as good as the original. Their will never ever ever be anything as miraculous as what back then. it was legendary nothing can ever come close to that.
Woodstock was an incredible historic event in entertainment and pop culture history.... not even that it was the largest peaceful gathering EVER!
people may say hippies are crazy and dirty... but they believed in one love and unity... people have lost faith in that feeling of being at one with the world and each other. So i think it's important to remind ourselves that sometimes we can all live togther in harmony even if it was just for one concert .
