@Ido013 nope. No pokemon game have different area music(xpt in 3rd gen when kyogre and groundon are loose, but then again. i would call that an event theme)

This theme is phenominal. It captures an unknown essence of Pokemon heavily. For example, I have a plotline going for a Pokemon character that was friends with a Gym Leader, but the leader went missing and now he has to take her place, while looking for what really happened to her. This music captures a side of Pokemon that we need to see more often, like the plot I have.

The remix was done beautifully, and it inspires me to write my own story about Pokemon. Thank you for uploading this.

I hear how it's the gym theme, but IMO it strays too far from the source material. It sounds more like it borrows from the gym theme than an actual remix of it. This style would fit better with a song that was already slow or melancholy, not such a cheerful song like this.

For everyone who's complaining about knowing the Pokémon music like the back of their hands and still not recognizing the source material, it's obviously the Gym bgm. The melody is most clear at 1:13, 2:38, and 3:56.

I didn't recognize it at first either, but I think that's what I like most about these kind of remixes, =^p that sudden sense of "Hey wait! I KNOW this tune!" ^~^

Wow pu_freak managed to turn a rather happy and exciting tune into one of a more melancholy feel to it, that's just simply amazing. I'm super glad to see yet more excellent Pokemon remixes being created and getting accepted in OCR!

I can hear the source material pretty well. Anyway, its a "remix" not a cover. It's intended to have some artistic creativity. The source is just a starting platform, in a way. At least that's how I feel.

@JKawasawa Same here, I don't listen to everything OC post. I heard because it was Pokemon Red (and I agree with your opinion by the way). I wouldn't thumb it down, because it has a nice melody to it, the piano is awesome, but it does not feel like Pokemon to me. Maybe it's its purpose, I don't know.

The intro sounds like it could be the intro to a remix of "Terra" from FFVI o_o. Great job, hardly recognized it at first until it got obvious when the piano came in. Really love the atmosphere that's set up in this one; probably one of the few examples of something that's "beautifully eerie".
