I don't see how he avoided the fight. Valuev is not someone you can go all out on and expect to hurt easily. You have to be cautious because 85 inch reach can suprise you in the ring. A few unexpected hits can drain you so it's better to keep a range and be smart. It's valuev who made it awkward not haye, he did what he could. Haye will beat ruiz but there's a few people that will trouble him(oliander solis). Froch will be outboxed in the super six no doubt

yes i know valuev made it awkward but it didnt stop john ruiz or ruslan chagaev from engaging. he wasnt on the outside for the whole fight but why didnt he just do what he did in round 12 in most of the rounds. he was too cautious and it made it a bad forgetful fight. but having said that haye will stop ruiz and probably in the first round.
