The pallet isnt true. My sister had the expander. And shes 18. You can get it at any age.

@hoppytad1 umm nope thats not right, it depends what age you start your menstrual cycle at. It closes about 1 - 2 years after that. and for boys its normally around age 15

@StayBeautifulx0 it all just depends on when your face sets in.. if we're basing it off of menstral cycles mine shouldve stopped at 14 as well.. but im 17 and got an expander.. the only difference of having it when you're older is it HURTS LIKE FUUUCK. because your bones are pretty much set in :p

my ortho said the same thing yours did but we took the chance anyhow. :)

Hun, you only get rubber bands if you have bite problems. The elastics your describing are for overbites. Some people get underbite bands, or box bands for open bites. Most people don't need rubber bands at all.

Your just a typical rich spoiled girl. When I was a child living in a third world country, I didn't have parents that took care of me. I only had siblings that I had to work and take care of so parents buying children food or braces are something that I never heard/experienced.

@MiaLeonora sure back then it might've been that many people couldnt afford it, but now almost every teenager has braces and us teenagers can't pay thousands of our own money for them. so normally your parents do. it doesn't make you spoiled to have braces.

@itskaylaxox no it doesnt hurt :) they take a took and pull off all the brackets, and then your left with all the icky glue on your teeth so they scrape it off, and then they take another sander tool thing and sand the rest of it off :P
