So, we've been reduced to recommending heroin usage and glamorizing it while a complete and total masterpiece is playing...What the fuck? I did heroin for 4 months in 2001 and it ruined my life! Let's get back to the music, shall we?
@iuriSalvador agreed. i love the lucid dreams you get from heroin. i feel more alive and awake when in those dreams then in reality. I binged yesterday, and last night i had the most surreal dream, it felt real. i can remember details of the setting that are extremely complex
@Drezin86 Goddamn, you're a fucking clueless shitbag! Indie music is the only music that's been worth a fuck since the 90's began. It's what real music is all about. This song is insanely wonderful. It's too good in fact. It's one of those songs that you can't even believe that it's actually been written and performed. Oh well, I get to enjoy it and you don't. Must be a sad life!
@31makimba So, jazz, classical, fusion, progressive, and non-Western music isn't worth anything? Didn't know that. And "real music"? What does that even mean?
In case you didn't know, music is subjective. This song IS repetitive and there is no real musicianship on display. It sounds like dozens of other indie bands. I have reasons I don't like it, while you just spout idiotic hyperbole. If you confine your listening to one genre, than it is you who must have a sad life, musically, at least.
@Drezin86 First of all, if you will notice my statement was "indie music is the only music that's been worth a fuck since the 90's." I am absolutely aware that music is subjective and I am also aware of many other genres that I love and couldn't live without such as: 60's, 70's, and 80's music ranging from bubblegum pop to psychedelia to brit invasion on into the 70's with classic rock, progressive rock, glam rock along with ballads, and of course the brilliant punk/new wave/retro from the 80's.
@Drezin86 Well, I believe Indie is a pretty broad term, but to answer your question, Yes. Unless there is something spectacular out there that I am unaware of. Let's do process of elimination: I detest country, I detest rap, I detest heavy metal/hard rock/thrash metal, I detest mainstream alternative, and I detest Billboard Top 40. I'm sure there are other sub-genres out there, but the fore-mentioned genres in my prior remark are more than enough to sustain me and they are what make me quiver.
@31makimba Those are very narrow categories. What about progressive, jazz, orchestral? Still, just because you detest those genres doesn't mean nothing of value hasn't been created in them. Too many confuse personal opinion with objectivity. Hell, even plenty has been created in indie, a genre I, for the most part, hate, but I still recognize its contributions to music.
I am beginning to fear that the entire music industry is being dominated by poorly written and meaningless modern RnB and it is good to hear a minority, even if a very small minority of people are composing and enjoying REAL music! My generation (I am 13 years old) has been brainwashed by modern music and it seems this one of the songs that keep me sane.
the songs about being stuck in life. but its also saying 'some get called to the life. its like william black saying some are born to endless night, some are born to swet delight. but blake and dan i think are saying- hey its your choice.
F**king song, listen to the words, this songs keeps my reality real. Just the best shit going. maybe what sounds like the desparity in his voice, and the charging drums. and and the crashes.. and keyboards.. Im not sure there was another song ever written like this. You know our hearts beat time./.../.. waiting for something that'll never arrive... kills me.
