I'm surprised you won. Your opponent had you outnumbered almost 2 to 1, with phalanxes, slingers, and superior cavalry, and you had no archers (you had javelins, but they shouldn't count cuz they only have about 5 throws each) Pricey101 could've won if he sent all his cavalry to take out your own cavalry and your general while your infantry were preoccupied by the main force. He also fucked up when he kept his slingers on skirmish mode and spread out, cuz they wouldn't have routed so easily.

For those of you who may be curious. When POM, mentions that he is going to "Decimate" the members of the Cohort that ran from battle. "Decimation" by Roman meaning, was to take every tenth man in a Legion that displayed cowardice in battle and kill him, just in case you were wondering.

when you used your cavalry to confront his cavalry attacking your left flank and routed it having broke trough on the left flank with what little cavalry you had.. why you did not use your cavalry to attack the rear of those secret band hoplites and crushed them against your cohorts? his other cavalry was busy on your right wing.

I cant believe he didnt press his advantage. He have better use his Calvary to attack the flanks, thereby support his men and holding back the roman encirclement. As long are you prevent the Romans from using there fluid movement, you can beat them. The problem is they are so mobile. He had that battle in his hands and he gave it away

you keep on amazing me with your numbers+maneuverability>qualit­y troops. you do it with pre marian vs post marian and you do it in instances such as these... amazing what you can pull off with the Romans(especially pre marian) with proper maneuverability moves, abusing their flexibility. the best part is that this was infact how the Romans did fight and why they created the Legionnaires in the first place, flexibility and maneuverability>Phalanx of their time(worst than Alexander's phalanx)

Nice battle. I've been studying your tactics for few days now and there's one thing that has totally baffled me. How you can keep your soldiers from routing! I see it here and there, and I have watched many of your battles where you had some routs, but nothing like what I experience. I fought Carthage online today and was owned. My guys would rout before I had the chance to manipulate them to victory. I'd start to make progress,but than ROUT. And also how you make your enemy's rout so fast.

This is a very good win, IMO, however you look at it, your opponent could've been a bit better in terms of using his cavalry well, I'd have looked to charge your cavalry as soon as they entered the fray, if they are routed, you have little chance as long as the units in the centre somehow withstand the legionaires. Still, good win and all credit

i perfer a balance. usually silver bronze pikes and cav with gold attack archers. goold gold are expensive but can be surrounded easily. gold gold is indestructable from the front if they are phalanx but from the sides they might as well be peasents against other spearmen

Click on your unit, and then set your Legionnaire's to "Fire at Will" mode. They'll throw their pila automatically.

But if you simply click and attack a unit, then it will only throw 1 pila, and then charge.
