But Sikh-Hindu association is far from unique to this place. On the one hand you have communities that keep separate and then there is a substantial population that are interconnected. Most sikhs in the world are Panjabi and their Hindu Panjabi cousins are often interelated.

I love Sikh's and Hindu's of Afghanistan! We are in touch with this Sikh family in London and they love Afghans and Afghanistan more than any other Afghan. It was so cool seeing them do Qarsak and Attan at their wedding, LOL. May Allah Tallah bless all Afghans and make us, this generation, see those beautiful times on our Sarzamin as well. And I am talking about those beautiful times where my mum talks daily about, which makes me so upset our country isn't the same any more.......

Are you Muslim yourself? And yeah it is in our hands for quiet a big part, but we must also accept that especially neighbouring countries won't let us rest in peace. I wish no ill or harm to our neighbours but if they truly acted on destroying us, then I guess Allah Tallah is punishing them for their deeds right now.......

:) dont ever wish anything bad on anyone.. people of pakistan are the poorest, most humble, and the nicest people ever. its not peoples fault, they only care for 3 meals a day on their table. its the governments. and yes.. the government of pakistan thought they could fool their people.. and now their economy is doing the worse since 2006.. where it grow 8.4% now they needed 1 billion to stop 26 banks/business of pakistan from going to bankruptcy .

I am not blaming Pakistan but have we forgotten how their people time on time supported their Government when they decided to destroy Afghanistan? Where was their humbleness then? Don't get fooled by their 'niceness', and besides Allah Tallah is punishing them for their own deeds anyway. Whether we wish good for the or not, His wish is the final wish........

Yes, and way before Islam, or any other religion came to Afghanistan, Hinduism was the dominant religion. since 2001 there have been more than hundreds of various things discovered by archaeologist which date back to Afghanistan golden Hinduism era. this is just another blow to the people who try to make Afghanistan and india apart from each other, we dont just share a bollywood culture with india, our roots go way back than a cinema of 40/50 years old.

I thought that Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, and Kalasha mythology all shared a spritual co-dominance in pre-Islamic Afghanistan. Of course Afghanistan was a great center of Hindu learning as Chinese traveler Hieun Tsang recorded. But before Islam Afghanistan was a melting pot. That is not to understate the role of the Hindu Shahis, my favorite of whom was of course King Jayapala ;-).

oh i agree with you fully.. because of the wars there havent been accurate coutnings how many followers still remain, but all those religions you mentioned still have followers. i found recently a report from 2005 done by UN Staff.. thats there still some 10,000 zoroastrian followers around balkh etc.. the more facts i get out.. i will share it with u guys :) thx for ur beautiful comment.
