WE didn't do anything thats not what I'm seeing... Protesters have rights absolutely.... But don't block the street preventing me from going by are block the sidewalks to other citizens.
Then I would expect the police to move you out of the street and to unblock the sidewalks.
Get a permit to legally block a street or rent a facility the cameras will come. You will be scene world wide if you have enough followers. Just do not deprive me of my rights to walk or drive down a public conveyance.
If you make accusations of Police brutality come with evidence. This video shows a bunch of people chanting at the Police then they rushed the Police after it was alleged that a lady fell. The poor lady who was injured probably sustained the injury from the students who were tugging her. What was the cause of the protest?
This video seems a little bias... What happened at 4:50? An old professor was on the ground, but why? Plus these protesters are stupid. Angry college students, they are EVERYWHERE now a days huh? Peaceful protest, but when you are trying to provoke the police by saying "I smell bacon," and cussing at them and presenting yourself as a threat.. protesters out number the police hear, you wouldn't be on edge too if you were out numbered 1:20? C'mon. Shut up, and get out of the streets....
CSUN is not a real school, you make up your own degree, just like a restaurant. If you see the face shields come done, you are getting a ass whooping. Go back to protesting 101 and learn how to protest.
@Paladin601 I go to CSUN. It is too a school and one of the best! It's well within our rights to protest the state of california constantly cutting our budget. Thanks to them classes are getting more and more scarce, not to mention the fact that police beating up a teacher who is needed to teach is just crazy! They crossed the line there.
@ssj5grl but you are not on school property, you are interferring with others, and blocking traffic. How much money do you think that protest cost and whom do you think is paying it, CSUN. not to mention the loss of revenue to the local businesses, that pay the taxes that pay for your education. So you are shooting your self in the butt. A 73 yrold Soc. Prof should know better.
@Paladin601 Perhaps, but the police did cross the line, breaking her arm! I mean come on! I'm not saying protesting on the street is the right or smart thing to do for that matter. I go to CSUN myself and I didn't see te protest first-hand so I'm not entirely sure why they took it out on the street. The only thing I don't understand is the level of violence the police have to show to discourage a possible riot-in-progress, but they were peacefully protesting, even if it was on the street!
@ssj5grl When you have a crowd like that it is hard to tell who broke the arm. Police work in those situations is all pain compliance. In fact most Criminal Justice is pain compliance. Maybe you should try a ride-a -long with the LAPD before you judge them. They have families and concerns just like everyone else, their training, that is approved by the City Council, tell they how they should act and what works best in these situation. What is you major?
@Paladin601 I'm a deaf studies major and I know, since i wasn't there that I can hardly judge the situation, especially if this is the only video I've seen of the incident. And No thanks! I don't have to ride in one thier cars just to know they have the hardest job in this city. I can respect them and what they do, but they can cross the line every now and then.
@ssj5grl Deaf studies, that is a good major, it could do alot of help in lawq enforcement preventing things such as this. Did you know tha a deaf and blind man was severly beaten by the LAPD at MacAurthur Park, because he did not follow their commands, about the same time as the Rodney King incident. The Victim was white and the 2 officer were hispanic, it was not even reported in the press. Yet the officer were not charged and the vict received only 200,000 dollars. I agree they went overboard
@Paladin601 I agree that it is a good major and I'm not really sure where I want to take my career, but I'll definately keep that in mind. It was very nice chatting with you about this.
18 LAPD and 1 CHP vs over 60-100 or more protesters. Less than 10,000 LAPD Peace Officers to patrol over 7,000,000 people in LA City. I don't know it seems like pretty great odds that these men and women have to go through on a daily bases. Also protesting I'm all for it, but there must be some reason why the Police were called to respond in the first place. Disturbing Peace after hours (10pm to 8am), Large Gathering without a permit( ex picnic permits 100 or more people) given by LACPR.
Lol college students? A righteous cause? sorry, I couldn't hear your point over the childish chanting of "I smell bacon!"... I am a CSUN Senior, this is a joke and it makes a mockery of everything our education stands for. Your provoking the officers and intentionally trying to get a physical response. You all should be ashamed for your actions and understand... this is a borderline riot. Sad sad day for CSUN.
obviously these people r idiots...y r u standing in the middle of the street...then when the cops coming towards u telling u to move and they r carrying battons u still stand there like they are not coming towards u??????? common sense any one? people got beat by the police....o well
@mrjorge0423 police brutality isn't an issue that you just say oh well to. this shouldn't be a police state. it's conformists like you who think the police have every right to every action they do. they are pigs, and all they signed up for is to carry a gun and fuck with people who they don't like. they are nothing, and don't deserve respect when they act in this manner. why should the people be afraid of the police? this is the people's country.....
Hi, Im one of the students that was arrested, and along with the lawyers we are looking for videos that will show the whole arrest and injuring event. It is important for the students to win this fight again because they are wrongfully charging the 5 students arrested and they are denied the injuries in Dr. Olsen. Do y
I dont understand these liberal retards. If the Police are coming towards you with hats and bats, get out of their way. Stupid stupid people you get what you deserve.
I see an antagonist crowd and you guys cry when there are repercussions to your civil disobedience....
Perhaps protesting to your congressmen and state officials instead of some random street is more effective since they are the ones who enacted the budget cuts?
@ccsla123: i agree with part of what you are saying. but as human beings they have the right to protest where ever they want. especially on a PUBLIC street that is maintained and paid for by their money. and the lapd has no right to hurt people who are not hurting anyone else. especially people who fund their salaries. antagonizing or not, they have no right to infllict harm in this situation. they are fully armed and armored men, against students. how are they a threat?
this dosen't surprise me the LApd is a facist most corrupt police force on the face of this planet . LA is truelly a police state and this is proof of it ...
ok i understand cops shouldnt do that and there are also cops that are just retarded but these protest if u see they dirty our streets sometimes give our schools a bad name and disturb the peace of others thats why the cops come but think about it next time a crime happens and u get robbed, raped, shot, kidnapped or beaten by a gang or something they are the ones who go an help just think about it neither did a good thing the cops acted in a manner they shouldnt have but also the protesters....
so glad to see a video that demonstrates well exactly what happened. without videos like this, its easy for that cop from the other video to claim that the protesters were responsible for the professor's substantial injuries.
