  • So divine, bird of feather

  • Awesome!!!!

  • no one cares about music from OS. Oz bands been doing this for 30 years. the rest of the world can go eat a dog. COG join a long line of cracking aussie bands. Say no more!!

  • wow what an awesome sound from a three piece, the lead singer also has a good rock voice.

    cheers

  • Why the f#(k did no one ever told us about this GREAT band over in Europe. ffs

They broke up . pfffff... Can´t stop listening to their albums now! (thnx to Floating me!!)

    greetingz from da Lowlandz

  • @bazterd22 when did they break up? I saw them play at Pier Live, Frankston Australia just recently...

  • @bazterd22 scratch that - it was a year ago I saw them play... and one of their last shows.

  • @MrRastaVibrations Oooooh RUB IT IN!!! lol . . two months later I;m totally addicted!! The New Normal=Not Normal!! The spine, Real life etcetc.. F*uckin A man!!

  • Ive been listening to these guys forever, who cares about what bands fucking better, COG shows great originality and they have overly catchy songs which, in retrospect, were extremely successful prior to the bands break-up.

  • time for you vool loving punks to pay the mighty cog the respect they deserve.

vool are alright but they play generic rock that is nowhere near as creative nor does it have the importance of cog's music. i have heard hundreds of high pitched voices like kenny's but only one original voice that is flynn's and lets face it vools long tracks suck and cogs long tracks are total beasts.

  • @xShootzx In your opinion of course, what you have said is correct... but musically speaking your totally incorrect lol.

  • Wish these guys were still together.

  • his view in 0:44 is pretty funny x'D

  • pretty good yet mark of cain shit on them. sevenfold

  • @onyachamp

    It's music

    its an art form

    its not a competition

there is no legitimate way to prove one band is "better than another"

Its all relative to peoples particular likes/dislikes shaped by their life experience

Comments like yours serve no purpose except to make you look inept

    Cog is awesome

    That is all

  • @hendrixian1 structured "comments" like yours paint you as a bit of a pretentious wanker.i'm quite sure that would NOT be all.now fuck back off to fairy land princess

  • @onyachamp

This is so us, with our love-hate relationship.

Did you want to come for a decaffe chai latte in fairyland tommorrow?

I know it's a bit pretentious of me to ask like this but my father the king says thats one of my best qualities.

    Call me xx

  • @onyachamp I thought that he had some very good points. And if you think that structure is pretentious then why should you be the one to say one band is better than another...

  • I just found out that Cog have broken up, im shattered awesome awesome band. Cant believe it, why? i cant find anywhere the reason 4 them braking up. If sum1 knows the reason let me know.

  • @papajoeman23 The singer wanted to spend more time with his family. They haven't ruled out getting back together one day

  • Does anyone know what he's saying in the background during the last "And I'm only trying..." section? He's saying it in the music video but I can't make it out.

  • R.I.P <3

  • I love this band..

  • I don't think it'd be a far claim to say that mainstream music everywhere is shit

Of course in other countries all you're going to hear out of a specific country is mainstream, thus shit.

    Pretty sweet band though

  • This band is so talented. They are also amazing live!

  • You can just feel the rock coming from this band!

  • loved it, but yeah, saying that music from the UK, US etc is just bullshit and arrogant, listen to mastodon - US band, Priestess - Canadian, let alone all the UK heavy metal, classic rock etc, theres good bands from all over the place, but unfortunately we have to put up with shit like Justin Bieber, its bullshit

  • I think aussie are so less f&*kin plastic than their counter-parts across the ocean, it's so hard to be genuine in this industry always has always will be, but C.O.G are just one of many who deserve sooooooo much more. Kick ass boys.

  • A truly great Aussie band, they should be bigger than Vool...This song is incredible...

Hopefully they keep on making great music...

  • The aussie music scene kicks ass.

  • I had never heard of this band until I saw them live at Full Noise. They are amazing.

  • cammadore64 couldn't have said it any better

  • this band reminds me of system of a down

  • look out Australia, b/c it will be coming. When corporations see the money to be made in Aust., they'll be there using their formula for your very own Aussie Spears.

So many great bands here end up breaking up b/c of financial and creative reasons as they dont get the recognition (ie. String Cheese Incident). Bu8t small minded people (no matter where they are from) will see it their way so whatever....

  • Um, no offense but Tool is by far the best progressive/psychedelic rock/metal band. Sorry, but their concert experience is copied so much and their music is so original that Australia has nothing like it. Karnivool is is the shit and Cog good too but to say that America has no good bands (Deftones, Tool, The Mars Volta, Doyle Brumhall II and on and on). THe problem is that so much great music doesn't get the exposure anymore b/c huge corporations have a formula (ie. Britney Spears) and ...

  • @TheHimalayanGorilla Don't forget Mastodon, Rishloo, Buckethead, Dream Theater, Circa Survive, Hella, Animals as Leaders, and Coheed & Cambria. And if you're just counting North America you might as well add Protest the Hero. Even if you don't like any of these bands they still make amazing music that is progressive and shows good background in music theory.

  • @BigTymerPimp he's just talkin aussie, leave yanks out for five mins

  • @BigTymerPimp yeah I didnt want to go on and on. Love Animals as Leaders & Rishloo but coheed and cambria i dont at all dream theatre isnt a fav but i recognize their genius. Bella Fleck n the Flecktones w/ Victor Wooten, Umphries McGee, Peach, Kingston Wall, C2B3, and on and on. I just hope Karnivools 3rd release is more like the 2nd not the 1st.

  • I lost hope in American music a while ago, too. I'm from smack dab in the middle of the U.S. and to be honest, that's where alot of the best bands are. East and west coast contemporary rock/ alternative bands have mutated into some sick monster of insincerety and competition. I can stand strong in saying that one of the best modern bands out there happens to be from Texas. There name: Fair to Midland. Oh and they happen to be touring with Karnivool. So don't go assuming too much about America.

  • Come back and play a sydney show guys

    we miss u

    xoxox

  • come back!!! and play a sydney show guys

    xoxox

  • birds of tokyo and karnivool both have the same singer but just the things they do, if you want metal-ish soughta music you got karnivool, if your into more rock birds of tokyo are there, these two bands just make australian music good

  • Cog + AC/DC = The world explodes.

  • its very sad this great band is splitting up R.I.P

  • Not bad, not amazing though.

  • This makes me proud to have the good ol' Down Under-ness in me.

  • iv heard this song about 50 times today

  • 9 dislikes??? Thoes people must have accidently hit he wrong button i guess!

  • Fuck these COG are so goood.

  • My mother's side from the family are all Aussies. I got a rly good connection with my uncle and his son. 2 weeks ago Nick (his son) arrived here. Probly the most awesome person i've met so far. His gf was rly nice as well. And now they are gone to the country of awesomeness again.. Wish i lived closer.. (Dutch). I still feel party Aussie and I'm damn proud of it.

  • @Michaelmop

My mother's side of family is Russian and Canadian, while my dad's side is all Aussie. I'm really, really proud to have the Down Underness in me. Real proud.

  • The vocalist looks like Chuck Norris. I love this band :D

  • This is the Best of aussie music adlayz

  • Cog are the band that I have always wanted to hear. They have so much passion and purpose in their music. They are amazing musicians and I love every single second of their music. Keep it coming boys!

  • See that, kids.

That's a man behind that microphone. Not a tidy clean shaven tight jeans prissy little shemale singing about his apple products collection.

  • so much singer beard

  • Bass player rocks. So much talent in Australia.

  • australian bands are great but english bands are good too with Evile fronting the new wave of thrash new world order of british heavy metal roots.

  • I saw COG play on Wednesday night and it was the best live concert I have ever been to. COG are awesome, there music is just awesome.

  • Cog fuck'n rock! Fuck you TournamentOfPenis. Aussies are down to earth good people.. Fuck'n shit for brains.

  • Check out my cover of this song

    /watch?v=St7t2WtY8p8

    Please rate and comment!

  • Hey, check also Cog from the Philippines, thier track is Filicide & Milipide,.. they also rocks. Please stop comparing thier music. Peace. Rock Rules.^^,

  • This band is so underrated. F*uck I love being an Aussie. Unlike "that other country" our music is real. Karnivool, Bliss n eso, Hilltop Hoods, Art vs Science, Temper trap, Birds of Tokyo...You name it. We're Real =]

  • you forgot the butterfly effect

  • In saying that I'm assuming your stating that this is the most popular music in your country?. The "other country's" underground music isn't nearly as shitty as what everybody's judging it by.

  • You forgot Mammal dude.

  • Sh*t did to :S

  • @Axisoflords No shit. We also have complete tools in the music business just like the US or UK. The UK has some great music coming out of it. So does the US.

Not quite sure what you mean by real mate.

Regardless, this isn't all that bad. Not as good as Vool though.

  • @Needlefeet17 I agree with you, true masterpieces have no common origin. It has the ability to come from anywhere, Australia or otherwise.

  • @Needlefeet17 "Not as good as Vool". Why must people always compare music. Respect it for what it is. People like you shouldn't voice your opinions ever.

  • @sbrwut The idea of not comparing music is ridiculous, if any song was the only song it would be the best, we need other music to compare it to so we can decide what we like better. Any opinion is fine, but without comparing you can't have an educated opinion.

  • @FeederForLife not necessarily true, shit could exist and have no appeal to us.... we dont like EVERYTHING that exists, the same way we dont hate EVERYTHING that exists... when something resonates with us, then we like it... if only one song existed and it sucked then we wouldnt listen to it...

  • @Axisoflords yea but being in aus makes it so hard to get big nationally.. like cog would be fucking huge if it was in america or britain

  • @DForknargh: Yes, but would you really like such bands slaughtered by major labels and all that crap? Such things destroy the soul of music. IMHO it doesn't matter how popular a band is, it doesn't change the quality of the music.

  • @FromThanatosToSol na dude not always.. take tool for example they are fairly similar to cog in what they sing about but much more well known and because of the world wide media attention partly because of the american music industry they have had the opportunity to share their music with people all around the world and to collaborate with artists like alex grey and fred stuhr an im just saying that cog deserves more attention

  • @Axisoflords yep plus our metal scene is awsome. dont forget that. we got the winning shit

  • @Axisoflords Don't forget Closure in Moscow. They're my favorite.

  • @Axisoflords plenty of underrated bands in 'that other country' that put this shit to shame. couldn't just be as simple as stating how much you like a certain band without ripping on another country. Deftones blow any aussie band out of the water. Choke on that you simple-minded fuck!

  • @Axisoflords if ur into metal, PARKWAY MOTHER FUCKING DRIVE!

  • @BrutalScreamerForevR Haha! They're from perth!

  • @Axisoflords NO! theyre from Byron Bay NSW idiot

  • @herrheinzfritz

he said they are from australia. Idoit!

  • @warnock881 No he said they were from Perth... and theyre not.

so get it right next time duuude

  • @herrheinzfritz

    where does it say that?????

  • @BrutalScreamerForevR Not really "metal". Technically speaking they are "Hardcore"... or more defined: "Metelcore". Awesome band though :)

  • @MixolydianMayhem Brother, that was 11months ago, i realise how ignorant to all different species of metal there is :), but its cool if you want to comment on a thing from 11months ago :).

  • @BrutalScreamerForevR haha, nah I was just browsing through all the ridicules arguements on here. Then I though I'd have a say in something, so I chose yours lol. Not to worry, The unbrella term "Metal" is all we need anyway :)

  • @Axisoflords America has plenty of great bands. You just have to put in some effort to find them. Isis, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Frank Zappa, Cynic, and Tool are all amazing American bands. Also as far as I'm concerned great bands like Karnivool are only making up for the travesty that is AC/DC.

  • @Cammadore64 I replied to harshly.. there are a couple of good bands from America, But im just talking about the general mainstream.

  • @Axisoflords Mainstream music in general is terrible for every country. It's the underground scenes that hold the gems.

  • @Cammadore64 Definately. That Zeo Bawndi chick suck's so badly..So does Short stack. We don't need fucking pop bands coming from here. We have enough trash on the radio as it is >.>. Underdogs FTW,

  • @Axisoflords Not forgetting AC/DC...

  • @Axisoflords I must correct you there, birds of tokyo was real before their latest album.

  • @Axisoflords We in the States have some "real music" that's still alive. Ever heard of Them Crooked Vultures, for instance? I also like MGMT and The Strokes. The Brits got bands like Muse, and if you don't agree, try listening to the masterpiece "Butterflies and Hurricanes." Canada has some good bands, too--definitely a lot of indie bands lately. Though right now, Canada's stolen my heart with CandyRat Records. "Real music" is out there. Just gotta feel for a pulse in the right places.

  • @SuperGamer87 I definately agree with you there. I was basically talking about the songs that are mainstream. I realise Australia isn't the only country with real songs (that's bias of me) but I'm aussie so I only know the mst about the songs from here. Oh and I'm a fan of Muse.

  • @Axisoflords yeah australia is awesome, but wanna explain why our music is more real then other nations?

  • @analcavitypirate I'm not explaining why to a guy named AnalcavityPirate....

  • @Axisoflords yeah what a ridiculous name

  • @Axisoflords eso is American but other than that yeah man. Aussie's rule over "that other country" :D

  • cool song, cool band

I'm glad I found these guys!

  • no he isnt.

  • KIX AKX to the Jth!

  • Does anyone know if the lead singer is Aboriginal or not?

I've always wanted an Aboriginal Metal band.

  • 0_o does he look aboriginal?

  • @beliartheusurper

I don't know, maybe? He definately sound like it though...i think

  • @HaroldFeldberg there was an aboriginal metal band in the mid 90's hailing from Alice Springs. There name has been on the tip of my tonque for the past few months but i can't recall it. they were produced, however i haven't been able to find any reference to them anywhere....it was there music that set them aside.

  • @heavenhelpme07 NOCTURNAL

  • is there any way you can get a top quality version of this song, it just doesnt cut it cranked, wicked song though.

  • Most underrated band that I know of. They deserve so much more credit!!!

  • One of the songs of the decade.

I havn't heard a three piece band crank it up like these guys. Intense.

  • this fucking rocks

  • this is an awesome song. as for the poeple below TLE are still awesome but they arn't the same as the roll on, prisinor of socitey era. if you want to have a look at a new underground aussie band try the rocketsmiths. BTW how come on every cog song there are poeple comenting on birds of tokyo and vice virsa

  • This song will always b 1 of my faves. Full stop.

  • me too!!!

  • I'm beginning to love aussie bands

  • you should just love aussies all together

  • 2 more for you to check out: Gyroscope and Birds of Tokyo. both awesome bands

  • The lead inger of Birds Of Tokyo is in aother even better band calle Karnivool, they're absolutely mind blowing!

  • oh yea i heard them on Nova 969

  • Ian Kenny is Lead singer of karnivool and Birds of Tokyo. And they're both awesome bands.

  • gyroscope is pretty awesome (Y)

  • Beautiful...

And I've gotta say, the music video was really well done too! Really impressive! :)

  • i agree with djwesty94 both great bands

  • this song is brilliant, just need to find the album

  • love the song, mammal is another good aussie band

  • love the chorus to this song, the verse could be better tho

  • this band joins rush in the league of 3 piece progressive metaller genius's

  • that singer has an awesome voice

  • Here are some cool bands to ck out as well:

    Kayodot

    Maudlin of the Well

    Irpress

    Thanx.

  • is there no other way,

    these guys rock.

  • They remind me of a Australian Biffy Clyro but better. Elfboy, Australia has some fantastic talent, check out The John Butler trio, Parkway Drive, Pete Murray. Natbball07, the whole album is fantastic, its called Sharing Space. You won't be disappointed with any of their albums.

  • Biffy Clyro is Scottish
