In this video you claim Tre Arrow and Jeffrey Luers shared the same snitch. This is not true. Jeffrey Luers and his accomplice were being followed by Eugene police at the time of their crimes, so no snitches were needed to prosecute them. Tre Arrow was indeed ratted out, but by someone who had no ties to the Luers case. Accusing snitches is serious business, so please get your facts straight before doing so.
I just posted this to my politics of the environment course as the basis for a psuedo neo-eco front organization to help form opinions on the subject. I call it psuedo in order to avoid being arrested and offending those light of heart and also with pull. I have been told a spark can ignite WMDs and now I examine the cost.
When Tree sittling ELF's come to the conclussion that cap n'trade carbon trading UN NWO's are just putting together a tax scam for International bankers t, Then maybe thats a sign that people are waking up.
Watching porn on 56k? That's fucked up! So is getting your ass kicked by pigs, particulary when standing up to their slave masters to defend, preserve and expand the last semblances of freedom one might imagine. The myth of freedom and happiness in slaver is alive and well! From training us what to think before we even learn how to think to demonstrating the effects of CS gas, truncheons, and concrete confinement on our head, body and minds, We must defend our souls. They can't take our spirit
notice the inverse relation, all of you, across the years, between your "living standards" and the amount of wild space, uh, "natural resources" that was clearcut, polluted, urbanized etc. to support you.
start reading books by those who don't share your privileges. spend more time outside, actually awake. start communicating with those who don't speak english, or who don't speak words at all. and yes, that includes...
I notice that you type about "government" and "private property rights" as if these are two opposing forces, one of which will change the wold for good and one for evil. this makes it hard for anyone not living in total comfort to take your intellectual approach seriously.
To anyone living any lower on the social or taxonomic/speciesist hierarchies which comprise our daily existence, the State and "private property" are quite obviously two heads of the same implacable beast devouring us all.
" the State and "private property" are quite obviously two heads of the same implacable beast devouring us all. " Currently private property does not actually exist. Consider what happens if we don't pay our land rent in property taxes, or our income tax etc., Your view seems to overlook the very reason the industrial revolution took place (i.e. a protection of individual property rights). Notice the inverse relation between the size of government and our living standards across the years.
your very correct in your position. but your missing my point. i see the how priavte property is inportant and the philosophy of what im saying is a bit self defeating but our eviorment is more important, i would prefer that they by the landbut if they are unable to do so im fine with the lack of philosophical continuity to do so. your arguing good theorys and thoughts but frankly im more concered with actions more than ideas.
it's our duty to minimize the damage of the global disaster we as humans have caused.
we are not in anyone's personal space and the "owner" of this land is not a human being but rather a legal construct meant to shield the shot-callers from the legal repercussions of their actions.
chris- one more thing about "private property". this is not akin to stealing someones personal car. i think this is more like being on a bus with a psycho at the wheel. do we wait patiently for the corrupt authorities to save us or do we take it upon ourselves to intervene?
as per 12 monkeys...if the guy owned the land, i would support him. If it's private property, the owner should have the right to decide what happens to the land. So if the forest is important to this group, they should buy the land.
The problem, however, is that they are infringing on another person or group's property and rights. Just because I can't afford to buy a BMW doesn't mean I can steal one. I understand their intentions are good, but they self-refute their moral positions by effectively stealing from others (i.e. using property owned by someone else without their permission).
i hate this mentality i get it but i hate it. your getting so wrapped up into logic that youd rather watch the world burn then do somthing. sure is there a lot of hipocracy but hipocracy is not as bad as the destruction of the enviorment.
I think you might be misunderstanding my stance -- I don't think the present situation is sustainable either, but it is exactly BECAUSE private property rights are losing strength and government is growing. Only from a logical and consistant stance will people take you seriously (plus it is the only way to arrange a sustainable society). If property rights are respected, there is an incentive to be sustainable with all resources, since they actually belong to someone. (cont)
When we have great swathes of land and water that are "publically owned" or internationally managed, we get enormous ships scraping away the ocean floor and clear-cut forests -- it is the classic tragedy of the commons. Government would have you believe capitalism is to blame for pollution and deforestation, but did you ever see someone polluting only private property? It is ALWAYS into the lakes, rivers, or air, since no one would put up with that shit except bribed government officials.
In short, I think we need to stick to principled arguments and actions, and keep pointing out the hypocrisies and injustices in the system. If logic and rational thought are not going to solve the problem, then rash public displays of violence and tom-foolery surely will not change society for the better. I respect and share your care and desire to make the world better -- don't let haste ruin the wonderful message we are trying to bring to the world!
hello all! i am writing from behind the redwood curtain. a place where greedy corporations continue to plunder the forests from lands stolen less than 200 years ago.
we do not recognize the validity of corporate "ownership" of an ecosystem that we all rely upon for survival. the water and air flow freely here and the effects of this logging are severely damaging our rivers and our atmosphere.
if we didn't take this stand, the forest we occupy would be already be gone, the soil bleeding into the creek and the carbon rapidly escaping into the atmosphere.
chris, since you believe in property rights please champion the rights of the native whose land was stolen amidst the incredibly barbaric genocide of indigenous northern californians.
The forests you are interested in saving would be safer under management from a company interested in its own long-term profits than a government leasing land temporarily to people who wish to plunder resources before their lease runs out. As for the natives, of course theft of property is wrong, I agree with you. I don't understand your aggressive attitude, especially since you are not proposing any real solutions to the problems, whereas I have made a logical attempt at a solution.
If the land is owned, then stop trespassing. How do you reconcile your disdain for those who stole land from the Indians and your approach to achieving your own goals by occupying owned property? Having said "stop trespassing", I will allow that governments have made it very easy for corporations to purchase land that would otherwise have been purched and used environmentaly responsibly. I think your fight should be with government rather than private property.
I notice also that you are using propane and various other industrially produced products. I know you might think it cliche to point these things out, but if your words and actions do not agreee with each other, it is hard to take your intellectual approach seriously.
we find it morally acceptable, if not imperative, to intervene in the wanton destruction of our forest, contamination of our water and massive contribution to climate change. the threats to us not only include the extinction of salmon in california, but the displacement of millions of humans globally due to famine and rising sea levels. we need to protect and promote the recovery all of our endangered species and sources of clean water. immediately.
Have you considered the moral implications of your reasoning? Anyone might say "it is imperative that we xxxxxxx, and therefore property rights and invested interests can be smothered and ignored". Certainly there is a better way than kicking in the door and throwing out all civilization? I think you need to provide a reasoned basis for a stable and long-term society before I can support your actions. i.e. what is your plan after you save those trees? I will subscribe to you and wait for a video
you are presenting a lot of ideas and phrases as if we were the ones espousing them.
you are asking tree-sitters what they plan for society? give me a break. we are just the tip of the ice berg. we could never do this without such huge community approval and support. our supporters run the political gamut and hail from many countries. you're asking a fire fighter how to replace a burning house.
i don't have the balls some of these monkeys have, but i respect their cause. i love these news reports though. how come we never hear this on foxnews?
It is not "their cause" fatherprime, it is OUR cause and they are doing the leaders role is gaining ground so WE all don't loose everything. Some are good at this, some are good at that, and we are all good at something that is will help. Find it and do it... I am, and I encourage my 'circle of influence' to do the same by example.
Well said. Being a family type, I have to be careful about getting the shit kicked out of me by cops in a protest. But, I do grow food, and so do my neighbors. Communities coming together is the way to get through what may be coming.
@organdva, hey :) I love this channel too, lol, it's amazing too see so many in London protesting Climate Change, and like Stimulator says... all while we dumbass Americans are still trying to convince our neighbors and politicians that climate change even EXISTS. How sad.
and again its up to the people if they prefer talking to some ignorant jeep driver that his car is worst shit ever produced or take action and destroy his tires. or whatthefuck ever.
