I think she sounds the same when she sings live, the only difference in quality is the way the music goes with it since she only uses piano when live as compared to cd version that has tons of other instruments. REally i dont think her singing quality changes at all.

I tend to avoid listening to singers live, because my perception of the song usually gets ruined. Regina Spektor's live versions are obviously not as good as the edited ones, but I have to say that they're amazing enough to make me love her music so much more.

@Lorncat What do you mean? Regina is one of the few modern artists who doesn't use autotune. She's great! This recording is really bad sound though...

@NikkiBay8 I know she doesn't use autotune, which obviously makes her sounds worse than she would when recorded on a CD. I'm saying that even though it's innevitable for her to sound worse without it, she proved herself to still be a great singer and her singing live has only made me think she's better.
