I grew up in a farm labor camp in central California called Linnel Farm Labor Camp in Visalia, famous for having been the labor camp John Steinbeck stayed at as research for his "Grapes of Wrath" book. The memories I have of living there will never be forgotten, and I will always be humbled by the experiences of living there. Though I am no longer poor, I will always remember the cockroaches, gangs, leaky roofs, drugs, violence, and hunger that came with living at a farm labor camp.
