Very cool Grant, like the jazz octaves at 1:32. Kinda Benson-ish. Hahaha!! Nice to see you having fun and playing better and better all the time. Right on.
Nicely done Grant. I'm sure you have checked out the Pat Martino version of "Sonny" on YT...but if not, check it out...it kills!!! Once again great job...:)
GREAT Vibrato for such a young cat. Timing, soul, chops, originality, you got it all youngblood. Dont get a swelled head, dont let people lead you by the nose. you seem pretty together, youll be just fine. Hope it takes you everywhere you would like to go.
A bit of advice, if I may; don't get cocky! Keep practicing, challenging yourself, mastering something you still haven't etc. You are good, you are really good, and you'll get even better as you grow older, but don't ever become satisfied with your skill. That's when you stagnate and stop improving. There is no ONE best guitarist, meaning there's always someone better at something than someone else. Keep practicing, learning and growing as an artist and stay modest. /,,/
@jimbo4202 I have been playing for over 50 years and most of the time I taught myself. I do not need a teacher and in fact a teacher I had would not teach me because I was better then him. I play blues and I play what I feel.I am now produceing tracks for my band's first cd. I think that I know what I am doing and others like what I do on a guitar.
@roaddog224 Everything i know about guitar is from a video...like basic concept of powerchord, or pentatonic scale, or paul gilbert 3 note scale, or concept of sweeping or alternate picking.
It's still harder to learn from a video than it is a guitar teacher in real life correcting you if ur playing shit wrong.
I've been a fan since I watched you win on America's Most Talented Kids. I knew then that you had real talent, and you continue to prove it. Keep on rocking and I look forward to following your musical career.
Kewl! I like how you feel the music as you play! Just being yourself and you feeling the music makes you enjoyable to watch. I need someone like you jamming at our house all day and night :) Nice job, Grant.
Grant, you are truly one of a kind! I've played for 35 years and have never seen anyone to match you in terms of tone control, and your technique is impeccable! Love the little Wes Montgomery passage in particular. Congratulations on the Robert Johnson New Generation award... it was well deserved! All the best.... :) Mark
