if you listen to it without being able to see how hot she is, its just an average vocal perfomance of a great song. Theres nothing exceptional about this at all, if she looked like Susan Boyle I doubt you would all be saying this was a great performance.

Yeah, she did. She chose this song because one of the original band members lost his mind. Her mother had a history of mental illness, and she passed away unexpectedly not too terribly long before she sang this song on the show.

I hope people dont listen to this performance and compare it to a studio recording, which seems to be the case with some of these comments. Yes, your latest pop tart icons sound pretty much the same live as they do on cd, but it is because of extensive backtracking as well as "protools live" or just plain lipsynching. Respect to these artists getting up their without these "tools". She did a better job naturally (truly live)than many do in a studio.
