  • That's nice, do u think there's a market for it though?

  • Just like earth final conflict

  • Very nice. I find the phone turned out way bulkier than the prototype shown here (at the end), with the screen sort of folding around the unit instead of neatly rolling up. But I still would like to get my hands on one... I'm afraid they'll turn out rather expensive, though.

  • @punksmurfje What you're probably seeing there is the fact that although we have flexible screens and PCBs, the unit itself still only has standard "rigid" batteries. Flexible batteries are still in the labs (at the start of 2011 - time of posting). Couple of other things are there as well, but it's mostly the battery.

  • there are much better flexible 'paper' screens out there currently for other developers to use in products

this is interesting though. shame the electronics required for the display are so bulky!

  • This video is over a year old, so I think there should be improvements with this technology n the near future.

  • That would be great! I would like to do some user-studies with it.

  • hope soon - 'cause it's a very fantastic invention!!!

  • cool. when do we get a colour one?

  • I will look it up! I want one.

  • "Binnen vijf jaar hoopt het bedrijf een versie op de markt te kunnen brengen met een 8"-kleurendisplay waarop video kan wordfen getoond."

Translated: They want to develop an 8 inch colordisplay within 5 years. Which would be able to display video.

This current screen only shows not-moving pictures
