I followed all the instructions and can see the movie folders in the media folder I created but when i open the folder for each movie on the ATV there is nothing in it. Most of my files are AVI. Can anyone help me out?

i have got a problem, everthing going good but when i come to my ATV and with xbmc a source install. i'm click on windows network - workgroup - My pc - and a window shows up with inlog, i'm trying evertyting but it comes still. plz help

Excellent Tutorial!! Many thanks. I have my Apple TV setup now to access my media files from either Windows 7 or Ubunutu whichever I choose. I just have to figure out how to make this work with Mac OS as Lion appears to create issues. I have a triple boot system with Mac Lion, Ubuntu, and WIn 7.  It's nice when things all work together well and your assistance makes it possible. Thank you.

number 2 - i too am getting error 2 - shares are not sen - have not tried new user, but can see shares on netwrok pcs, but not apple tv, have xbmc on windows 7 machine... can add videos as upnp but do not want to add this way!!! windows is up to date...

@xctechs At time frame 4:12 nothing shows up for me. I uses to get an error 2 but i think i resolved that problem. Now its just getting xbmc to see my shared files on my computer.

@edfjr1 error 2 was orginally created for Printer Setup, make sure your windows is up to date then try again

Hi I keep on getting an error message when trying to connect to the WORKGROUP - "Error 2:share not available". I've opened up everything on Win7 and can't find any ways of making it work. Have you run into this?

@arkeetek613 make an account on your windows like a guest account, and then share the folder make sure you given guest account permission to view then try back that should work

sorry to bother , but im glad your answering, when i create a new user id and password, then type it in on xbmc, it still wont take it! ive done exactly what you have done here the only thing different im doing is i have windows xp on this computer and not 7, i was thinking about just upgrading and see if that is my problem .

@j2tall2003 remember that when making userid and password in windows XP you need to go back to sharing, and make sure you selected that login to have read access or full access if not then that user have no access try to see while i make my video about it ok
