Remember that the M1A1 uses the same gun as the German designed Leopard 2. They are pretty similar to eachother, only that the Leopard runs on disel while the Abrams runs on rocket-fuel. Still, the Leopard is the fastest tank it's size today.

Well yes it is possible for one person to kill one hundred others. Some snipers have killed hundreds but I just meant that for one regular soldier killing 100 other regular soldiers, that's very unlikely, it might happen sometimes but usually its 1 kill 1. Also games do not always tell like the truth you know. Its just for entertainment. I play them a lot too but they're not completely accurate. They tend to twist the truth.

You're forgetting how the Cold War ended. Russia couldn't keep up with the military spending. America and Nato were coming out with more and more sophisticated weaponry and the Soviet Union couldn't keep up. While NATO was developing weapons to destroy entire tank columns, most Russian tank designs were DEATHTRAPS (ask anyone who's nailed a T-80 with a HEAT round why their entire store of ammo would cook off) and Russia couldn't maintain it's equipment.

It is ridiculous, when people serious discuss such script of possible war between USSR & USA. USSR would not begin the first war against the USA in any case. On the contrary, USSR it has been constantly compelled to answer calls and threats from USA and OTAN. The first nuclear bomb of USA- second in USSR. And they not bomb Japan. Even after Hiroshima the Japanese military DID NOT want to surrender. the emperor forces the issue and saved japan from annihilation. ever hear of Operation Iceberg? more would have died.

But it is clear that absolutely no need for the nuclear bombing of Japan was not. Japanese navy and air force were completely destroyed. Germany and the Axis as a whole has failed. And if they were forced to surrender, then a small and militarily weak Japan simply had no choice

@YodaTheElder I dont know all the secret war plans but i guess there not too secret right? anyways, i was under the impression that the militarist did not want to surrender to the allies even on a conditional basis. seems like overkill for revenge for what happened at pearl harbor, given most of the fleet was resurfaced rather quickly and no serious damage to the oil fields or the dry docks and only over 2,000 killed. destroying an entire city for that seems too much to me.

@YodaTheElder i think they did it for more than any one reason. perhaps sending a message to the USSR while forcing the capitulation of Japan and preserving your forces in the pacific by not doing a costly invasion of the home islands. Afterall, more Japanese civilians were killed when B-29's use incendiary bombs on Tokyo so the shock that a single bomb could do what it did I think was to also intimidate. theres whole books on this.
