  • who wrote this? her or evans blue?

  • My FAVORITE Tori song ever!!! My best friend got me hooked on Tori's music when we were in HS, so glad that she did.. :)

  • This song is so deep it transcends its self..Amazing work of art...Love you Tori..peace

  • I would totally tongue her ass

  • I'm crazy about this song, every version of it. The studio version, every live version possible, I can't even describe in words how perfect this is, and what feeling I get from this.

I've been listening to this for over 6 years and I can still listen to it the whole afternoon. Just perfect!

  • I listen to this and suddenly I find myself floating in the middle of the sea. Half of my body is cold, the part under the water, and the other half is hot, the one laying under the sun. I'm floating distortedly, I don't know where's the land, which way to look. How long have I been here? Then the song ends and I'm back again on a chair, looking at my screen. And I see that girl in the back clapping in the end, the one with long hair, smiling, just escaped, like me, alive from such a hugeness...

  • @thesandband Dextromethoraphan is a hell of a thing! But, yea I feel your general point.

  • Did I detect a Nine Inch Nails reference in the lyrics?

  • @TheOnlySilverUnicorn

yeah,in few other songs as well

  • Beautiful Tori.

  • Amazing talent.

  • She is sooo talented and sexy! I love Tori Amos!!!!

  • I thought Voltaire did it well, I mean, he's fantastic...

But this was just pure... bliss. Wish I had this song on my iPod...

  • hell ya she makes me wet =) pretty hate machine

  • hom did she get krist on the drums?hahahah

  • A musician I can respect.

  • Just AWESOME..."need a big, big loan a from the girl zone...." lol

  • rawr. such syncopation.

  • I've been listening to this video alot lately! I wish I could make a cd of some of the live versions of songs on YouTube so I could listen to good music in my car. Oh, I try the radio often . . . but there's no Tori on the radio and most of the songs suck (IMO)!

  • @HappyChic727

try google search youtube2mp3 - first link

  • This is definitely one of my favorite Tori songs. This was a great performance!

  • I just came twice

  • Voltaire did it better.

  • @drippingyellowmadnes no. I love voltaire, but no.

  • is it just me or does she have the sexiest eyes in the world?

  • @TantricManiac NO, it's NOT just 'you'. Definitely!

  • She is just like a bunny... a very cute, most beautiful and incredibly talented bunny...

  • My dream: John Frusciante and Tori Amos play together the most soulful album in the history of music.

  • 4:19 I love this moment

  • kala me th nuxtikia vghke ?

  • More fabulous Tori Awsome...for those who love or are curious.

  • I can't describe this. I mean...I'm 33 years old and for some reason have never really spent time with this beautiful woman's art. I think this is the closest thing to a religious experience i have ever had! Just...amazing.

  • :| seriously, obsessed.

  • sigh, how can one human be so awesome?

  • @JudeIceCool3000 We here at The Science Institute of Most Awesome People are still trying to figure that out.

  • can't stop playing the 'made my own pretty hate machine' part in this.

  • Tori is a great example of how to yield and extract great personal power from what you do in life without allowing it to corrupt you. Power and peace be with us. :) and would it be too much to say that the intense ceremonial feel of this song makes me feel like we don't have to be afraid of dying, that there is much more to life than we know today.

  • i don't want to sound ignorant, but i don't understand why she pronounces some words strangely - saying "tumbling down" like "tumbling dewn", and saying "is hot" like "is hoot". is that just how she expresses the music? it really comes out in her live performances of "me and a gun", and i just don't know what to make of it...

  • @nicolethebean85 - u said it nicole. she wants to express certain words & certain phrases more so. Many of us do this in conversation or other forms. (Italicizing words etc) I am an American but I am upset w/where our version of English is going & has gone. I say "TwenTy" & "WaTer" & people look@me like I have done some horrid injustice. That is the word-it is a "T" & surely not a "d". Just b/c some lazy people slur their speach -doesn't mean i should become incorrect. Tori's also aware of such.

  • @nicolethebean85 I do agree that the Amos version has some amazing qualities the Voltaire cover doesn't, but I think I'll still like the Voltaire one best ^^ I'm a loyal Voltaire fan =D

  • @Gothchick657 and there's definitely nothing wrong with that! :)

  • I am hopelessly in love with this woman.

  • i think i was listening to my brother's Tori Amos CD's obsessively when i was inspired to end all Affliction

    somehow

  • the breakdown always makes me cry, I don't know why?

  • Mesmerizing.

  • The instrumentation is amazing.

However, I am convinced Tori Amos is just making shit up at this point.

  • who's heard the Voltaire cover of this song? it's AWESOME!! (heard the cover before the original ^^;)

  • @Gothchick657 i had heard the voltaire cover before i heard the original version; it was always one of my favorites of voltaire (especially with that electronic-style beginning). but i gotta say, this amos original is so tumultuous and impassioned - it's just penetrating in a way that that the voltaire cover wasn't.

  • This is an AMAZING performance.... love it..>>!!!!!!

  • Is she mimicking Precious Things? She could sue herself for plagiarism ;) Or is this Precious Things Part II? Many many similarities, from the intro over the drums to the singing... I like Part I better.

  • Caught a light sneeze ...caught a light breeze,,,,Mr St John

  • After more than decade, Tori is still the most comforting sound to hear at 6am.

  • ohhh ich liebe diesen song

  • Love the Nine Inch Nails reference. She seems to have a lot of respect for her male counterparts, Trent Reznor, Maynard James Keenan, etc.

  • a goddess

  • i felt in love...beauty, awesome voice...aso...

  • that look from 4.17 till 4.21... I felt like a stone...

  • I want to meet the girl in the audience, the one in the background dancing and singing.

    Fascinating.

I think she may have a lot to tell about Tori.

  • so amazing, what a blessing that we have her

  • You know this is the first I've heard of tori amos. Always assumed she was just another talentless act. I must say I was really fucking wrong. I especially love the "made my own pretty hate machine" reference to nine inch nails

  • This is one of the best versions of this song I've ever heard by Tori herself! She simply CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED! Honored, yes... but no one else stands a chance... she's too original! DIVA, DIVA, GODDESS yes!

  • we need more women like tori

  • good version!

  • truly beautiful. amazing.

  • depths within depths. with in a trancsending time that never seems to pull its weight out of the blackness. which is from constant gravity pulling all the sound .only to emerge on the otherside of the nova...i think im baked..peace to all.to tori you are a total amazing talent.all ways liked you

  • Wow. This was absolutely breath taking. This was a very powerful version, I'd say better than her recorded version.

  • pretty eyes

  • I dont care what anyone thinks...she is one of my absolutly favorites!!

  • I adore this version... Sure her first live versions of this song were incredible, so much pain when she sang her. This version though, she sings so matter-of-factly. Sings it with passion yet with a more logical explanation hidden in her voice. Pain yes, but a good sense of why life can be so difficult. Tori has evolved that much. I appreciate her bringing her fans into her new mind frames by working hard on our beloved faves. Only Tori....

  • Your soon right also love siren from hammersmith apollo

  • so tribal sounding I love it. can't decide between this and sessions performance

  • @sirex02 The heavy sound of the percussions do give this rendition of caught a lite sneeze a tribal feel. Personally, I adore the sessions improve. If you haven't seen it already, I advise you to check out the MTV Unplugged performance of caught a lite sneeze - exquisite!

  • my soul is with you

  • this song is a mountain...

  • oh god, how wonderful...

  • very charasmatic, she looks so hot at 2.05

  • my pretty hate hate machine....its beating in time with...with...something

  • I feel stupid asking this but can someone tell me it was Tori Amos or Voltaire who wrote this song

  • @vence81 Tori wrote this masterpiece:)

  • first time i heard this i was on x,heavy shit.

  • so deep it trancends its self.

  • so deep it trancends its self.

  • amazing as usual

  • oh my effing god

  • Amazing!

  • this is pure quality music!

  • love her soo much <3

  • instant bliss flowing through all my senses

i am crying, smiling, making-receving love, painting and dancing on the highest roof. who needs drugs? With these eyes I see you shine, dear Tori. Your music makes me so happy to be alive, now, here

  • @onephurba What you said. I wish I could get this on Blu Ray.

  • We are BLESSED that this talent exists in our generation... As a young teen I thought all of our talented feminine writers existed merely in our textbooks. Thank you for giving us marvelous literature set to incredible music.

  • this really is one of their best. all around. matt and jon too

  • And what a stunning elf she is. She IS particularly beautiful in this one. :~)

  • My goodness is tori amos an elf? I always thought she was a beautiful woman but wow. That was just magical.

  • Tori is gorgeous and she always calms me down after a stressful day. An amazing talented woman!

  • Wow. She looks soo beautiful. She always looks beautiful, but that blue sheer shawl really does...something...XD

  • If I close my eyes and just listen when the song ends I feel like I have been in a ceremony some where with the Native American people. My breath calms down, my body rests, and the fear is gone.

  • yeah just great, slightly off center, talented and beautiful!

  • wow, she is completely awesome, under-rated for sure, and f'ing gorgeous

  • i love this woman

  • In my opinion, this is the best live version of CaLS.

  • i watch this everyday at least 3 times

  • it's addictive! I never tire of this version, or the sessions one:)

  • love this song.. absolutely love it.

  • I am currently obsessed with

    this song, Pancake, and Spark.

all of which are VERY passionate,

beautiful songs. I can't get enough of them

    or of Tori Amos.

  • I know what you mean. I've listen to this like 5 times already. Tori's music has a lure to it for sure.

  • This is one of my favorite Tori's songs, sing it baby! Tori always knows how to captivate her audience.

  • One of the best vids and versions of this song ever!

  • "anti faith lyrics"- jut another way of saying "I don't understand Tori Amos"

  • Correct.

  • The song is about an ex boyfriend of hers and the line "mr. st. john just bring your son" is just another way to say how hypocrite he is (a saint who has a son). Nothing to do with religion at all.

  • Yes that is a poss interpretation.

  • She's just totally indulging herself and us in the gorgeousness of her voice. It's been described as "angelic". It must be an amazing gift. Fun to hear.

  • excellent point, I'm surprised she doesn't go on tangents on every song. We're so lucky!

  • She's so gorgeous!

  • Smokin hot!

  • The Goddess of all time. Nothing more I can say - pure genius

  • Arrepiante!

  • YEAH~~~~!!! awesome edition

  • best version of this song ever!!! simply great, great, great!!!

  • amazing!

  • complete rapture

  • Everything about this woman is stunning

  • saw tori in manchester again last night, she gets better every time....if thats possible! love tori amos <3

  • saw her live in plymouth in '98 and she was amazing !

  • I want to marry this woman!!!!!!!!

  • great song anyways, respect

  • the drummer is SO COOL

  • This and Spark prove that I am merely a hack drummer. Wonderfully complex drum parts . He is quite exceptional at playing into, and wrapping around her songs. Cheers YA8

  • Caught a lite sneeze...dream a little dream...make my own pretty hate machine

  • Other-worldy awesome.

  • What is it about this song that makes me get stuck on it...

  • One of her best songs. I´m sort of pianist & just practicing "Boys for Pele" :-)

  • This women's musical talent is far beyond anything ive ever witnessed. Being a musician myself i will continue to be inspired by what she does.

  • I think it's my favorite Tori's song... but, God, she is so god that it's hard to make a choice. I LOVE TORI!!!!!

  • I love the song and damn, she's pretty sexy, actually. She has gorgeous eyes!

  • I miss the old Tori.

  • 4:20 - I love Tori - she rocks!

  • what?! I'm old and I get hrer lyrics! In fact this is one of her older diddies. The first time I heard this I was 17 I htink, maybe 18. I'm 32 now! c'mon, she writes the lyrics in the cd jacket man.

  • I still don't understand her lyrics!

  • ok dont try to understand word for word , just listen. all the sudden certain lines or phrases will parapharse your life and you'll get it ;)
