@bhavnaluvsangus I think Mikael is the werewolf father. After the original father shot him, Esther found him wounded and fed him her blood. He died anyway, but her blood was able to turn him and coincidentally the human he fed on was the original Petrova, so he survived the transition. Upon realising the petrova blood is the only way to create hybrids, the original witch binded the curse with her bloodline so Klaus would have to kill her to break the curse but wouldn't be able to create hybrids.

@ImNotABeliever I still think that true blood is more qualitative than TVD. The actors are much experienced and competent in TB. Anna Paquin is Academy Award winner... And I think that true blood is made for older audience. TVD is for teenagers. True blood is for adults. I like true blood more because it is much more complicated than TVD. There we can see how real relationship between people evolves.TB is stronger than TVD. I enjoy watching them both but TB is much more interesting.

@SdSlDm vikings descended from northen europe (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland). Between year 800 to 1200 we have a time which is called "the vikingage" (sorry for my english but a couldn't figure out a better word) If you have seen True Blood you must be familliar with Eric who's a swedish viking-vampire. TVD has no idea what they are doing with Viking runes. The rune doesn't spell Elijah it spells Mikael. Look at the third rune in Niklaus and the fifth rune in Rebekah, it's a k. Now look at the so called "Elijah" rune and you'll' see there's a k instead i.

And Michael drank Catherine's blood AND woke up through human blood maybe he is a special kind of vampire (vampires eating/biting/drinking vampire blood) I'm sure he is close with the Original witch who uses him as a weapon to "keep the balance" of nature. Maybe he was a friend to them and they used him to be vampires and he just wants to take his vengeance. TVD writers tend to leave open to many speculations!

@2Orangess I believe Mikael is the werewolf father of Klaus, turned by Eshter and coincidentally fed on original Petrova, so he survived his transition. The vampires he feeds on dies because he is werewolf too, that's why he is called hunter. I hope Tyler's blood works too to heal werewolf bites, for Katherine's sake. And season 3 plotline says ghosts will deliver a strong message from Jeremy's past, so Anna will be back after she learns the message she's supposed to deliver from the other side.
