  • Lovely video! One question: Do you massage the powders into scalp and hair, or you just apply and rinse out?

  • @annazt11 I mix mine with boiling water in a cup and let it cool then strain it through a very fine mesh strainer. Otherwise, using most of these products is the equivalent to going to the beach and rolling around in the sand with your hair uncovered... miserable to try to get out of your hair. Patel's sells them for $1.49/box.

  • @VeeShay1 Thanks!

  • @annazt11 You are welcome!

  • both amla oils contain mineral oil the only one that i use is the vatika oil it's free of mineral oil ! good luck

p.s the newer vatika oil is free of tbhq and it's a preservative derived from an organic source it's also found in food as a preservative

  • I purchased the neelinbringadi hair oil online the ingredients were posted there all natural safe ingredients. However once i received the product i read the ingredients on the jar, the only issue i had was it contained heavy metals and mercury at permissible levels which is still toxic. It was a total waste because i would not have bought it if the ingredients were listed online. Doctors and pharmacist advised against using it and so i didn't. I would rather purchase in person

  • @Jazeah00 I have this oil but I am not familiar with some of the ingredients -they sound like indian names but.... Can you tell me which are the ingredients that are heavy metal and mercury, please?

  • Thanks for info.

  • Do your oils smell bad.mine smell like bathroom cleaner.

  • Doesn't the Vitka oil have mineral oil in it too?

  • I went to my local Indian store and these products were twice as much as online.

  • @MsUa125 wow! it must be an afluent neighborhood or something. & and ive been purchasing them on and of since 2007. maybe u could try to go to an indian grocier in a diff neighborhood.

  • ...If you *eat* products with TBHQ (like twinkies) you'll be at risk for liver damage. Applying things with TBHQ topically (only externally) gives it its antioxidant powers and is not harmful. You can still USE Vatika if you AREN'T eating it lol

  • @Zayashuku , but i thought anything rubbed on the skin ends up in the liver, right? so how can that be true??

  • @MsUMMATI That's the equivalent of saying my liver should be cocoa butter therefore not functioning. The liver only filters things already inside the body. Your skin is a living organism that sheds and breathes. Your skin and liver are not effected at the same time--ONLY IF there is a toxin already *IN* your body. When you drink alcohol to a point you are drunk the liver is trying to filter the alcohol but it can't. At that point your skin dehydrates and becomes dull. It is not vice versa.

  • @Zayashuku if ur cocobutter is toxic than anythings possible. the skin absorbs what is rubbed onto the skin and some of it is taken into the liver. if it isnt something bad then what problem arises? however if it is something bad then though it may not hurt the liver (if its there in small amounts) absent of liver stress or malfunction prior. if there is some history of liver issue, why add to it?? toxins present in diff ways, & all do not have to be ingested to cause harm.

  • @MsUMMATI Assuming this were true then we would never be safe. I respect your choice to not use Vatika because of TBHQ. But unless you are slathering GRAMS (FDA does not allow this) a day on your body (assuming your skin absorbs it) or eating GRAMS a day, it is harmless. Anything in gluttonous amounts is dangerous hands down. I feel scare tactics are used to make people by into herbal care. But it won't cure depression which has been linked to cancer anyways. More power to you for being healthy.

  • @Zayashuku right sis, we'll agree to disagree on this 1. cause i dont take much stock in what the fda says about a great many things. a whole bunch that proves harmful IS allowed by the admin and a whole bunch proven effective and not harmful is disallowed ((shruggs)). ironically. i have been using vatika for as much as 5 years now, always just assuming it was all herbal. because i watched this (since i didnt read it- reading is deff fundamental) lol. i can make an informed choice. like that

  • @Zayashuku , oh depression that isnt treated with treating the whole person is just topical. and will almost always come back. shoving pills is a remedy (i say remedy Very loosely here) for the symptoms. it never touches the cause, which may be chemical/emotional/spiritual/tied up into the self worth of the person ect... pills may numb and make less frequent erruptions in an individual, but they r Not a cure. if a person treats the whole self and goes herbal, yes they Can find cure in that.

  • where can i find these products

  • I use the Dabur brand Amla Oil as a heat protectant as it coats & protect when I flat iron. I like the scent! I lke Vatika oil, contains coconut oil & really conditions.

  • The Vatika Coconut Oil is a fabulous deep conditioner! The herbs literally tingle on your scalp and hair. I bought my 300ml bottle for $5.00 at Lakshmi's Cupboard (an online store) - it was totally worth the price. My hair detangled so much easier when I used it - felt softer too when it dried.

  • the amla oil contains paraffinum liquidum which is a mineral oil ...thats soooo sad cuz im just lovin da smell of it!! ;(

...is the amla powder like henna without the tint?? is it making your hair thicker and does it really promote groth?????

  • the amla oil contains paraffinum liquidum which is a mineral oil ...thats soooo sad cuz im just lovin da smell of it!! ;(

...is the amla powder making your hair thicker and does it really promote groth?????

  • You didnt say much about the parachute oil :( i wanted to know about that

  • @temickab Parachute oil is plain coconut oil... <.<

  • i dont have any local indian or arabic shop near ma place.so have to order it always by net :(

  • @viga1989 do you have an international market ? they carry them there as well :)

  • what about as a hot oil treatment can you use the oils with the mineral oil as an hot oil treatment for 1hr? instead of useing it constantly on hair?

  • Great Informative Vid just wanted to let you know that the Ramtirth Brahmi Oil has Coconut Oil instead of Mineral Oil in it. HHJ!

  • Great review - I remember getting the Amla oil at a local store and slapping my forehead for not seeing the ingredient mineral oil (gave my hair a weird filmy feel)

  • Thank you so much. one example is the henna...35 bucks online (the cheapest) and 2 bucks at the local indian food store. don't know why but that's the way it is.

  • awesome bought some neem wasnt sure how to sure how to use it..

  • Super great video. Thnx so much!

  • When you say damaging to your liver, did you only mean only the Vatika puts you at risk or All the Oils ?

  • now that ive been doing my A&B trtments for past 3 months...ive gotten my mess to a minimum!..: ).. great review as always......wow...good info on the oils!!

  • Arabic? did anyone at the indian store translate? I wouldn't buy it if I couldn't read the ingredients. I've only tried brahmi powder, amla powder, neem, and vatika. I stick to virgin coconut oil. I tried neem for my skin but made acne worse. Only accutane cured my acne. But I would like to try brahmi/amla powder for a longer period of time to see if I see any differences in my hair.

  • Did you ever make your own oil?

Still trying to find dried amla.

  • I recently mixed the Shikikai, Alma Oil and Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silky Conditioner, wrapped it for 2 hours, and rinsed throughly. Afterward I applied Neutrogena Keep-in Daily Conditioner, and my hair was the softest it has been in years. I am still experimenting with products to discover what works best for my thin, Type 4c hair.

  • If you mix these powders with boiling hot water(then let it cool a bit), there is not much grime. Just so everyone knows!

  • i like it better as a ta. my hair is very thick and nat. wavy so the paste didn't work for me but the tea worked.

  • @nikknikk19 Thank you for stopping by and sharing your experience.

  • does the vatika coconut oil contain mineral oil?

  • @ndidi08 No, Vatika coconut oil doesn't have mineral oil.

  • what do you do w/ extra paste left over after you mixed the powders w/ water????? do i put it in the fridge or do i have to throw it away?

  • Thanks so much for this very informative video.

  • You're very welcome hun :-)

  • thanks for the video :) why cant you mix the henna and indigo using metal ?

  • @oreodunker2 because it gives you irregular color instead of a uniform color.

  • Excellent video. I enjoyed watching and respect your honest reviews. I love Ayurvedic products. I use the Amla powder on both my hair AND as a facial mask. It works great.

  • how do u use the mehandi on your hair?

  • I just follow the directions on the package.

  • yes but it doesnt have instructions for the hair, only the skin.

  • @naturalbornqueen could u please spell out the name of the youtuber( mentioned in this video) who has the instructions for oil/powder infusions. i cant quite understand what ur saying when it comes to that part. thanks in advance.

  • @MsUMMATI :found it: she said reviveUK...i had a hard time hearing her too but I had to strain a bit and searched :)

  • @princesskaha thanks princesskaha :) i did subsequently get it, and i have been to reviveuk's channel. thanks again though for trying to help :) take care now, bye.

  • GREAT information once again! I have the neem, alma, and henna powders. Still trying to create the best mix for my hair so it doesn't come out to drying. The neem is really nice on the skin. I got some of the alma oil and beside the gross smell, I was sooo disappointed it had mineral oil in it. I feel in love with the Vatika oil and it smells so good. But I'm not buying it again because I made my own using ReviveUK's instructions and love it! I make big bottles of the stuff.

    Awesome review!

  • Thank you JNB! I had to try them over and over before I found the right mixture that left my hair feeling great. Let me know how it works out for you.

Thanks again sis! You are so great!!!

  • The Alma powder is the best it stopped my hair from major shedding. I try to use it at least once a month.

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • I love the Amla oil. If you have thin edges this works great to grow them in thicker.

  • Amla is great and it really strengthens the hair. Thank you for posting!

  • Correction, I just double checked, even the Mahabhinrgaraj has the mineral oil in too :0(

  • Just sad :-(

  • Great vids Sis...blushes...thanks for the shout out :0) lololol...you know its such a pity about the ayurvedic oils because the herbal mixes in them are great and they go spoil it with no 1 or 2 ingredient being mineral oil...rolls eyes...one of them Mahabhringraj Maka Enriched Hair Oil by Hesh has none in it...I tried it but STILL wasn't that keen as I am used to the love you can feel in homemade products!!!!!!

  • Thank you sis. You deserve the praises because you really do extend your knowledge to benefit others like myself.

  • I have learned so much by watching you videos. Thanks for posting.
