I think its more of whats missed while thinking about Breastfeeding. Mothers who smoke, take medicane, drink a lot of caffiene. Say there is something you must study for and you think " hey just a few cups of coffee" and breastfeed. Babies die from mothers who THINK they are doing the right thing for the baby, but if you are heavy on any of those, Formula is the way to go if You arent willing to Not smoke/drink. etc.
@brandicantu The research shows that babies whose mothers smoke have less health risks if they are breast fed than if they are fed with artificial breast milk. Please don't tell women that can't give up smoking not to breast feed as this would put them at their baby at even greater risk
I breastfeed in coffee shops, restaurants, on planes, at my friends' houses, at home, & in public settings. I never cover myself with a blanket. I do cover up as much as possible with whatever I'm wearing when nursing outside the home. I believe that every baby deserves to receive breastmilk. I believe that every mother deserves the support needed to make that happen. If you're on the fence, my advice is to try it for about ten weeks; that's how long it took me for the process to be magical! MK

Doctor, you should do a program on the dangers of soy infant formula. Check out the "Soy Alert" section at the Weston A. Price website.
