  • Mate you and your uncle are the best. I love your vids. Who needs T.A.F.E. nowadays?

  • good idear with the rope thanks

  • Thanks Unc and Stripy..:)

  • So now you're saying that I need to buy a chainsaw, so that I can repair it. I think I'll practice on my petrol strimmer (weedwhacker) first.

  • KeI nishi

  • Great vid! I'm going to check mine tomorrow!

  • So, I was wondering do you use bar oil for the chain saw? Because I have started using car motor oil the past year and find it works just as well and is much cheaper. Now, I've hear some people say they use old (used) motor oil that was drained from a car, but I think that's too thin and broken down. And it sounds like all that black would spray all over someone's clothes. Just wondering if you ever tried using a cheaper oil than regular bar oil.

  • @charlesfloyb no i haven't used motor oil, i guess if it's the same viscosity it couldn't harm it?

  • Excellent demonstration! I do alot of chainsawing, not professionally, but lots. I'll be watching this again to clean my own oil pump, so thanks. I found it interesting that the one mechanism (forgot the name) had to be turned to right to untighten. That would've stumped me for sure, since I always go "righty tighty" and "lefty loosy". I like the improvisational thinking on stopping that piston from turning using a rope , too. Oh, I use regular motor oil to save money, never used used oil.

  • he sounds just like you lol

  • awesome idea on how to lock the piston up!!! Thanks greg

  • my brother blew up my chainsaw, it angers me.

  • If you let this stuff do by a store that probably is very expensive lol

  • Your Uncle is wise.. I never would have thought to use the rope to stop the piston! brilliant!

  • I wish a mate of mine had known this before he forgot to put oil on my chainsaw and buggered up the oiler. Thanks for that video Greg and thanks to Greg's uncle for the technical advice.
