@Juberoos Sorry man, I completely miss-understood the context. I read it and thought you said Crap because you thought the video was crap so your glad you didn't waste your time going.. Again, Sorry man.
Weird man everyone seems to love this concert. But I was there, and Eddie was drunk as fuck, making terrible drunken speeches about the war. I was literally probably 50 feet from the stage, and I had to get the fuck out of there. Eddie seemed terrified. Can't blame him. And I'm not judging him, I don't know what he was going through, but man, I couldn't listen to PJ for about 6 months after that.
This part of the show was fantastic but anyone who was there remembers the opening song when everyone was throwing glow sticks in the air. I was in the pit and stood on the railing and just stared at 100,000 people lighting up the Tennessee sky. There is a lot from bonnaroo i can't remember but that's something i'll never forget
much agreed! bonnaroo really is a different world, and i cant remember much of my experiences there, but i'll never forget THIS song, and PJ's performance.. the only night i was truly sober in every sense
i cant say i have ever had a better moment in my whole life... i will always rember this night for as long as i live thanks to eddie vedder and the rest of pearl jam... thanks!!!
I was there...greatest concert I've ever seen! And the final head count for just this night was an estimated 175,000 people!!!I was in the raised handicapped only seating. Could see all the way to the road in town. Cars were pulled over and police lights could be seen on the road. The whole town of Manchester, TN came to a halt when Pearl Jam played that night. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything!!!!
I love when the crowd sings! best thing ever especially when theyre in other countries and the only english they know is probably that song but they still sing it...no woman no cry version of this song in netherlands IS AMAZING, i wish i could of gone to this only if, only if
I was there! And I LOVE when the crowd sings along! And I have never heard of ANY songwriter disliking it! What a beautiful expression of how much your song has touched people lives than the fact that they can sing your entire song, verbatim and on cue and in pitch. I personally would be honored as a songwriter and singer! Isn't that the point of writing music?!? To hit at the heart of someones soul?
bonnaroo.... i miss you... i miss you so much... everyday of my life.... you are really something special.... this was a great night.... ill never forget...
If he had a problem with it he wouldn't stop singing so that the crowd could take over.....instead of bitching about it just listen to their cd's and don't go to concerts. I'm sure you're one of those douchebags who stands there with your arms crossed standing like you aren't having any fun.
I was there... 2:30 into this video is where the shrooms kicked in, now I hear his voice and I feel light headed, no joke... when pearl jam comes on the radio i have to pull over, BONNAROOOOOO!!!
balck was awesome to, pearl jam is just one of the most amazing live bands of all times, one of the greatest bands of all times period, mmmm im forggeting something... o yeah
slompappy, i couldn't agree with you more. I'm from Ontario and my friends and I skipped outta school just before exams to check out Bon'. glad I did, best experience ever... ok maybe line getting in coulda been shorter
I waited 3 hours to get 3rd row in the pit for PJ (my favorite band, obviously). This was insane when everyone sang, it was so amazing. Pearl Jam played an absolutely brilliant performance at Bonnaroo, they really know how to play to that large of a crowd
I have to say i completely agree with you Slompappy.. I wasn't much of a PJ fan before this concert, the only reason i was there was to see Metallica... which is somewhat ironic because we came from Seattle (Bellevue).. But after this performance and this song in particular i found a new appreciation for PJ, it really was something that words just can't describe!! ... unfortunately you just had to be there!
I've seen prob close to 1500 live performances of all kinds of music over the last 25 years or so.this night was right up there with the best live music experiences of my life
@slompappy for sure. i was in middle school when vitalogy came out... i had been pretty ho-hum about pearl jam.... but i can't even begin to describe how incredible this show was!
@slompappy Best show I have ever seen. Period. And I've seen many, many, many shows (RHCP, Metallica, STP, Porcupine Tree, etc). I have never felt like a concert was my home, but at this show, I was at home
chills thru out my body right now listening to this and remembering that night getting hit with warm waves of sarah tonin and me and my gf cuddling way out in that sea of people singing this... *tear*
i will never forget the great mindblowing experiences bonnaroo has been so kind to have given me thru out the years
this show, followed by sigur ros, followed by ghostland observatory made up my first molly experience ever...and WOW! Definitely the best night I've had at bonnaroo in the 3 years I've been there.
Amazing experience with three awesome bands, will always be one of my favorite memories.
i was at this concert stone cold sober (not by choice) and this is one of the defining moments of my life. looking around and seeing the lighters man...... greatest thing ive ever seen
yeah i was not a pearl jam fan before only because i never took the time to listen to them, and after seeing this show... IT BLEW MY MIND. im a huge pearl jam fan now. and im so happy. i love it. i miss bonnaroo so much it hurts inside
