  • go boy!

  • @skyiscrying53 Thanks!

  • Kent, I was wondering how long you stayed on Induction? I read the book and it said you lose the most weight on Induction... so my fiance and I thought we should stay on it as long as we could. But we failed. So we are starting back again, but we hate Induction...and we just want to do the minimum but I am afraid if we only do two week on Induction, we won't lose the weight we need to.

  • @LoveZanie I spent nearly 1 year on Induction, but it is not prescriptive or necessarily advised for others. I do have a video on here called "Atkins Diet Quick Hits - How long to do Induction?" where I deal this topic. You can be just as successful on OWL phase as people were on Induction.

  • @bowulf - wow, one year...you must have some serious discipline, lol. - that's obvious due to your success. I am going to check out the other video you suggest and possibly maybe try a month and then see how we are feeling. I don't want us to lose momentum and cheat. Thanks for your advice!

  • @LoveZanie Actually it didn't feel like discipline or will power. It was just simply easier eating the same general stuff of foods every day than researching how to cook with new ingredients. I had lots of variety, but the same basic type ingredients. There were times I added strawberries during that time when they were in season, but that was about it.

  • Thank you

  • @JudgeSOLDIER You are welcome!

  • U inspire me, but I'm 160lbs

  • @hotmessis That's about the same weight my daughter started the diet at. She's was working to drop the final 10-15 pounds at 5'11. It works just as well for those with little to lose as those with loads to lose like I did. Thanks for watching!

  • man there is no way in these pictures you are 430 pounds. No way.

  • @ToMegaloTsirko Sorry, if you don't believe the photos, but at 6'4" that's what 429 pounds looks like.

  • @bowulf At 6'6" and 340, I'm just starting. Over the past 2 weeks, I'm down to 326. Unfortunately I'm too old to restart my military career, but watching this video inspires me to hit my goal of 225. Thank you so much for putting this on here.

  • @ToMegaloTsirko That's easily 430 lbs.

  • Is this diet safe I want to try it!

  • @DragonDude180 Nearly 8 years of excellent health and annual physicals (including blood workups) later, I am still in great shape and all my pre-Atkins heart risk factors have disappeared.

  • @bowulf So eating high protein, low carb, and high fat the way to do it?

  • @DragonDude180 Check out my high protein vs. high fat video. This is not a high protein diet for a number of reasons. We actually eat within the limits of USDA -- 25-30% of the Calories are from Protein, so to be technical, this is High Fat, Mod Protein, Low Carb.

  • @bowulf I'm thinking of eating chicken wraps all the time will this be okay?

  • @DragonDude180 Wrapped in what?

  • We are just starting the Atkins diet and we were wondering if we can use salt and pepper. What is the best way to cook a steal in phase one, and can you blacken fish? Any tips on how to season food is greatly appreciated

  • @dcdcmd97 Most spices are allowed. (all that don't include sugar as an added ingredient) When cooking a steak, I typically add a little olive oil to a plate, season with kosher salt, ground pepper, and a bit of garlic, flip over and repeat, and grill. You do have count the carbs in the spices, but most are negligble in the amounts used. Check out my video about "Atkins Diet Boring? Spice it up" here on Youtube for more information.

  • i just found your youtube stuff today. i have been doing atkins for the last month-ish and have already lost 20 lbs. i have about 80 to go until i reach my goal weight, i just wanted to tell you how inspiring you are and how refreshing it is to see a man of god sharing as you do just to help others. anyway, i really appreciate you. i cant wait to try some of your recipes. and i definitely cant wait until i get to say "GOAL!!!!" god bless you, kent. thank you.

  • @Curvaceous81 I am glad my my videos could help you on your weight loss journey. I usually don't push my faith out there, but I am glad that people can see my faith in my actions and see Christ through me. That is my goal, and thanks for the encouragement in that regard. Keep working the lifestyle, and you will get to say "Goal!", which in my mind sounds like the Dave Ramsey "Freedom!" callers' yell. Thanks for watching!

  • Oh and where can I find the Diet book, or guideline? Cause I looked on Walmart, and I could only find one book, which seemed like it was only for the induction phase. Thanks :)

  • @SimpleLu09 Atkins website has the essentials on their phases section. I have had always luck at my library or used bookstores finding Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, or you can buy a copy at Amazon for penny plus shipping usually.

  • Can you drink Coke Zero during the induction phase? or any phase? if not, what kind of flavored drinks could you drink?

  • @SimpleLu09 Coke Zero is sweetened with aspartame, so it is a YMMV but generally discouraged sweetener. You could have diet rite or Diet Coke with Splenda instead. You are limited though to 3 sweetener servings per day. If the aspartame doesn't affect your weight loss, you could have it.

Any flavored drink would not count against your water total for the day, but I liked to add flavored sparkling water for a change of pace.

  • I am more into bodybuilding do you know of anyone who has success on atkins without losing a ton of muscle mass

  • @bluemuscle2 My weight lifting personally only increased while I was losing weight, but if you are looking for a big body builder who advocates low carb, you might want to contact MuscleHack.

  • My dad wanted to try this but he is a soda fanatic. He was wondering if it is still fitting in the diet if he drinks water with lemon or orange (fresh) in it. Your story is amazing and he hopes to do the same as you did.

  • @dcdcmd97 Yes, you can drink water with lemon juice in it if it helps. Orange would not be allowable, but lemon and lime juice are allowable.

  • yea, i need to start this diet again. i should of never went off

  • @hamlinfilm The good news is you can always restart and do the right thing. It's never too late.

  • but what happens after induction if I start eating carbs again?

  • @785tt9gh First you never stop eating carbs. You stop eating "bad" carbs (aka "whites") and some other foods during Induction. After Induction, you gradually add the other foods back into your diet up to the point your body can accept them and still lose weight. You also add the food groups regimented, so you know which ones agree with you and which you are sensitive.

  • So awesome and encouraging. I am young and need to lose weight bec. of my arthritis in my knees. I hired a trainer but her attitude was tough love. doesn't work. and the diet still left me with sugar cravings. I have got to give this a try and your video is very inspiring. but when I eat protein I can really crave sugar terrible...I guess I got to keep reading or watching vids. yours was the first so I have to check into more and get motivated again. I work with a trainer twice a week swim 3x wk

  • @shygirlnow2011 I am glad to help, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask away.

  • Great Job!!

  • Amazing!

  • Wow. Great and inspiring vid. Thank you for this. The skinny you looks like the young son of the fat you lol

How much cardio did you do? Running/walking or anything like that at all?

  • @bim2x4 When I first started, I didn't do any exercise for roughly 4-6 weeks, but after that i took up biking and walking. I tried to do that 3-5 times a week. That eventually progressed to running , and now I am running or doing cardio 5-6 times a week and run marathons. I certainly did not start there, but my belief was I couldn't just be happy with status quo but had to progress.

  • So proud of you! I've just finished induction, lost 8 pds. Starting owl today! I'm feeling healthier, already!

  • @suziQue Congrats on your success in Induction and making the choice to move on to OWL. Good job!

  • Oh man you did so great job congratulations and keep inspiring people with your story!

  • @jl07joey Thank you!

  • You didn't have any loose/saggy skin problems? It seems like so many people who lose weight have to get tummy tucks, and that idea is terrifying T_T

  • @oonanqtyujaoo I posted my loose skin video awhile ago. I do have some loose skin but nothing like the sheets of loose skin I have seen on others.

  • @cind311 5 days is way too early to be concerned about the manner of weight loss. You will have these times of no losses or bounces. The important thing is not to overthing it. You are already down 7 pounds, which is a really good start. If you haven't lose another pound in one or two weeks, then is when you might think about changing something. At this point, you should keep following the plan as described.

  • Kent - thank you for all you do. When I get discouraged I come back to this video and it always helps. I lost 25lbs on Atkins 5 years ago but I've been having the hardest time getting back on track long enough to make the same progress. First college, then work (I'm a database programmer) and now trying to get into an MBA program. Food has now become my main enjoyment but I'm getting really alarmed at the rate I'm gaining. Going to browse your recipes to help me get back on this again! :)

  • @EastTNChick I can hear you about the stress of life getting in the way of getting certain other parts of life under control. It is a matter of perspective, and with all that going on, doing the best you can is some days all that can be done.

The good news is that you can restart today, and in time, eating this way is as simple and easy as eating the old way. Vegans don't typically have to work at avoid meat after the first few months. It's that way with my eating too. Good luck!

  • @EastTNChick And be sure to keep in touch if you ever have questions...

  • Scientifically it's called the "Ketogenic Diet".

Today is my 10th day. From my first day I didn't follow any rules I just completely cut out - - Sugar, Rice, Pasta, Bread, Noodles, Potatoes and Broccoli.

I see a very noticeable loss of fat in my lower stomach which is my problem area, I can already see my 4 pack turning into a 6 pack.

I'm young and healthy so I leaped right into minimum carbs territory with no side effects. Maybe older people should transition.

P.S Zero Exercise in 10 days

  • @samprimmer1 Good job in your weight loss. Not everyone needs a regimented low carb or ketogenic diet like Atkins, and if you can achieve success by just dropping the "whites," all the better. Keep it up!

  • @bowulf

    Thanks.

Some days I'll just eat steak only, about 400g worth total. It fill's me up and I don't get hungry or peckish.

I only intend to stay on the diet for 6 weeks total. I've cut out all fruits too, I figure that seeing it's only 6 weeks I won't get too unhealthy from not eating fruits.

I supplement Vitamins C and D, also I take Calcium as I don't wan't to drink milk coz I believe that lactose could prevent Ultimate Ketosis! lol.

FYI You can't get Vitamin's C or D from steak.

  • Did you do the old or new atkins?

  • @JCLumbee The book I followed in 2004 was the last version of the DANDR ever written by Dr. Atkins himself. I still recommend that version as being THE diet. The new version has followers, but I am not necessarily a fan of some of their decisions.

  • Awesome!!!! Thank you so much for posting!

  • @okaysnoopy I am glad to help. I was definitely inspired by those that came before me. If I can play the same role with others, I am eager to do it.

  • If i could walk farther than the bathroom I might excersize, but i can't. Don't let the excersize stop you. I lost 15 pounds last week. Maybe it was fluid, but who cares? People look at weight as liquid measure. If you'll look at it as solid weight think that 15 pounds as 60 sticks of butter, or 3, five pound bags of sugar. Try to think how it would be to walk it up the steps in your arms. In your case you lost a couple of people. Here's to you. Here's to Adkins.

  • Way to go! You look fantastic!

  • @hulabird11 Thank you!

  • You just inspired me, thank you for posting this video.

I've always been really big, but always lacked motivation to do anything about it, my dad lost a lot of weight on this diet, now I've seen closer to what I want to achieve, I feel like I can do it.

    Thank you so much

    David Gallacher

  • @kevinsaturday I had that same inspiration from my brother like I said in the video, so if I can repeat the favor, I am happy to do it. You can do this! I failed at many diets before, but it was this diet that finally taught me how to be successful with my weight loss. 7 years later and still at goal~

  • @bowulf from whatpplreallydo check out 1800tellmama my other channel

  • @1800tellmama Congrats on your 2 weeks of success! I saw your video and was impressed.

  • *like*

great job! Keep it up ;)

  • When you lost all that weight, you were looking much younger! Great job,vey inspiring!

  • @Plakosternas Thank you -- those are very kind words...

  • I'm proud of you man! There are a lot of similarities with your story and my me. Defiantly an inspiration! All the best!!

  • @LondonHawthorne Thank you!

  • Comment removed

  • @deniceinspain I never really followed Calorie counting except to ensure I had enough of them. That was more of my problem than not.

  • thanks for sharing your inspiring story. wish me luck!

  • @deniceinspain Best of luck, but with this diet, you need it much less than any other one I have even done.

  • It's amazing how much YOUNGER you look after losing the weight! Congrats!

  • @johnlovesbridge Thank you -- I really do feel like I found the fountain of youth.

  • hi great story, i just started atkins, Can you pls tell me what supplements i should take on the induction phase? also, could u tell me your thoughts on taking reductil with atkins? i would really appreciate it if you reply thanks

  • @TheEljohara If you search Atkins Diet Role of Supplements here on Youtube, you'll find my video on this topic. Essentially all I took was a multivitamin, and occassionally CoQ-10 and L-Carnitine. As for reductil, I would question why one would ever need an external appetite suppressant on a ketogenic diet as the diet itself will help guide your hunger.

  • Awe, awesome!! Great job!! I did Atkins in 2003 and lost 45 lbs in 2 months, and then I stopped. I kept it off for 1.5 years and then slowly... Anyway, I've started Atkins again today after years of yo-yo'ing with other methods. I subscribed to your page. Great job!!!

  • @brooklynthebody Thank you!

  • Awesome man! I've been doing Atkins since June 2011 and have already lost 27 pounds. All the real science shows high-fat, low-carb is THE healthiest way to eat for the human body. Great job!

  • Great story sir... I'm already in my 8 weeks.. I started the diet last 11th of July. I hope I can keep this up till I get the weight that I want... I just wanted to ask what's the title of the song.. I think it's from Van Halen right?

  • @vergsneil You are correct. It's Top of the World by Van Halen.

  • Love this. I am on the 4th week of induction, lost 15 lb the first 2 weeks but nothing since. Just started taking l carnitine and co enzyme Q10 so hopefully that will boost my metabolism and get things moving again. Its these success stories that keep me going. Cheers!

  • @izzyheidiava Congrats on your success, and those supplements were the ones I took too.

  • I was doing some research on the Adkin's Diet and I stumbled across your video, and I must say that I am so proud of you, you look great and this video was so inspirational, I would also like to say congratulations on a job well done...keep up the good work.

  • @MISSINGROGERHOWARTH Thank you, and if I can provide that same inspiration to others to change their life I am happy.

  • @MISSINGROGERHOWARTH You are very welcome, I have actually watched you make quite a few low carb recipes, and I must say that i am pretty impressed, and I plan on trying some very soon. I have decided to try The Atkin's Diet some time in the very near future.

  • LOL! ! Thank you for responding! I love you! I love your video! I am going to wear it out on facebook! You said there is no after Atkins! Also to believe in yourself! I'll always try to remember that!I use to get stomach flu so much! Doing much better now! I started on the wrong foot! Now I am at the right phase, Phase2 Vegetarian, as they suggest! And I am doing good! I eat many veggie burgers, but need to find new recipes as you said! Also revise my old ones! Thank you for doing this video!

  • @ManyAngelsofMercy You are very welcome, and thanks for the very kind words. I am just rooting for everyone who sees this video achieve the same success I have.

  • Thanks for your positive video! Its an inspiration!

  • @SoldiersCode No, I don't have as much time as I used with older kids, so I try my best to support people here on my page and facebook pages. They still do wonderful work there and would be the place I would go for answers.

  • I am on induction and I just found out about hidden potato starch in lunch meat ham. Would that throw me off my first week work I lost 8 pounds so far. Starting the second week. Thanks for your work .

  • @gp1207 No, it shouldn't, but it is a good reminder to pay attention your processed meats may contain things that you don't necessarily want to have. A little bit may not hurt, but when there are better choices, I would choose them instead.

  • This is so cool Kent! It is very inspirational! I am trying to start it, but I am stumbling with it. Hopefully, it will feel in time like a normal diet, where I can have my dairy, and Atkins friendly bread, and try new recipes out to keep going! It needs to be a lifelong journey!

  • @ManyAngelsofMercy I hear you. The beginning is the hardest part, but sometimes you just have to grit your teeth, treat yourself a nice Ribeye with fauxtatoes, and try to forget about the high carb former lifestyle until the cravings go away. I know the first two weeks were rough for me too. Just start browsing the recipe sites and videos for things that look good, and hopefully that will help.

    Good luck!

  • SO proud of you! I've been on Atkins since early November and have lost over 100lbs =) You are an inspiration! Best wishes to you!

  • @medstudentNC Congrats on your success! That is certainly impressive as well. Simply fantastic!

  • Good for you.... you go boy!!!

  • @drpatriciab Thanks!

  • This is encouraging. I am in the induction phase. Thanks for making this vid.

  • @personal011782 No problem, good luck!

  • You are a dumbass for choosing the Atkins diet.

  • @s0ysauce09 Welcome to my block file, troll.

  • @s0ysauce09 You're the dumbass for thinking he's stupid for choosing a diet which has obviously worked for him!

  • Hi, I read your story on Atkins.com, which I joined today. I am starting Atkins today for 'real' this time, at 328lbs.

My story is similar, especially the part about the National Guard. My birthday is also the same as yours, but I am three years younger.

I love this video! I plan to watch it everyday to motivate me! Thanks Kent!

  • @WarriorsMind Hey I am glad I could repay the favor others first paid me. I only hope you have the same success I did.

  • This diet is fantastic, I'm so glad I discovered it. I have 10 kilos to lose but I lose an entire kilo in just two days on this diet. I'm really looking forward to the next two weeks. I like what you wrote at the end that 'there is no AFTER Atkins', that's so true and this is where so many 'diets' fail, as soon as you go off it, the weight comes back. Atkins is just sooo easy to do permanently, once you're past the first stages, I enjoy everything even in induction phase.

  • @jtking2504 I think that is the thing ("no After Atkins" ) that most people just have to come to accept. Most people when starting still view this as diet in which you can put on and off like a jacket. It's about figuring out what will work long term. They get fixated on reaching the goal number, but don't realize that number is only half the race. It is the rest of your life as you can continue to work out your success is the other half.

Thanks for watching and your comments.

  • sight

  • Your story is so inspiring! I have a hundred pounds to lose and you lost twice that- so I know it can be done :-) Thank you for sharing your battle of the pounds and so many wonderful recipes.

  • Your story is so inspiring! I have a hundred pounds to lose and you lost twice that- so I know it can be done :-) Thank you for sharing your battle of the pounds and so many wonderful recipes.

  • @mrsmommy79 Thank you for the kind words, and I am honored to be along for the journey and would love to help any way I can. Thanks for watching!

  • i have lost 41 pounds in 2 1/2 month i was 180 now im 139 =3 and i feel great!!!! thax DR ATKINS!!!!!

  • @melisalachikamascool That is amazing progress in so short a time... Congrats!

  • Well done Kent on your weight loss!

I find it so hard to cut down on carbs, and I really admire your hardwork.

Unbelievably, Scientists have now isolated a compound in seaweed that can block 82% of the carbs we consume (yes you heard it right!!!), so for anyone who does not have the willpower of Kent but wants to cut down on carbs, check out the details on my website link.

Thanks for your inspirational and motivating post Kent!

  • @weightlossfoodsnet I talk about supplements in my role of supplements videos. I am glad I didn't have to attribute my success to a pill because it would be unsustainable (I couldn't purchase a pill forever). Honestly, once you commit yourself to eating this way, find new comfort foods to replace those that are lost. The amount of will power at that point is negligible.

I would just encourage others to not sell themselves short.

  • way to go Kent Altena!

  • I find your journey very inspirational. I have been watching your Atkins videos for a while now, I am now on induction and your videos are a godsend. They help keep me motivated and give me some great meal ideas. Thanks for sharing your weight loss success with us all.

  • Hi Bowulf..just wanted to say you are an inspiration to many..I am just sad Dr.Atkins isn't here to see the success...Anyway, I am going to try this again. I weigh 265 I want to get down to 175..Do you think it is possible? I have read the book..I need to read again...What is your opinion on exercise? I like to lift weights..some cardio..your thoughts would be appreciated.

  • @blondeguy6 I too am saddened to never get to thank him for his wisdom and writing the book that helped me get to goal.

I absolutely think you can get to goal. For a recent low carb success story, check out my friend's Hank Garner's Low Carb Journey site. He had 100 pounds to lose and got it done in 6 months.

Exercise is vital to look good and be fit after you lose the weight. You can certainly outstrip any benefits by poor eating, but the combination of the two is best.

  • is there a limit on carbs you can take in a day or can you eat any of the 3 options it gives you on day plans? also, i only want to lose 18 pounds which will take a little over 2 weeks , do i still need to exercise like some one said up top? and if i do when do you recommend i exercise ( after dinner, etc ) thank you nd CONGRATS!

  • @TrienaPhxckeinAlex You should read the book. It will tell you exactly what is allowed each day and how many carbs. I am concerned that you view this diet as a fad diet (something you can stop when you lose 18 pounds) and not lifestyle choice. The reason that concerns me is that more often than not that leads to regaining the weight right back -- the same thing that often happens on Nutrisystems when you stop buying their meals.

As for the day plans, I am not sure what you are talking about.

  • @TrienaPhxckeinAlex I never followed any of the sample menus as picking foods that I liked from Induction Acceptable foods list was easy enough. Check out my "Can I eat this on Induction?" video for more information on what Induction is.

  • wow...I know this vid was posted years ago, but I am so glad I came across it. What an inspiration. And you break it down in simple terms! I can't wait to watch your other videos.

  • @screaminlisa Thanks for watching this one and the very kind words.

  • @mzlove38 If you go to Atkins website, you can find online courses that will walk you through all the phases. Or alternatively buy the original book for less than a dollar at many bookstores or lend it out from the library. Many forums like Atkins Diet bulletin board have the general rules and acceptable foods list. My other videos on here attempt to answer many of the questions people starting have.

  • when doing the atkins diet is not recommended that you exercise for the first 2 weeks of doing it but how ever i did and it was torture for me. but i ended up losing 22 pounds in 14 days. wich i can understand because i walked on the tradmill for a hour a day any longer and i would have died because i had no energy plus i was only consuming about 20 grams of carbs a day

  • @lilCtren First, good job in your losses!

That's my point though. If you had waited 2-3 weeks, the weight loss would have likely been close, but you wouldn't have tortured yourself. You had no energy because your body had not acclimated yet. At this point, eating the same amount of carbs I run marathons. I want to encourage the long term results while not losing eye on the short term success.

  • good for you bro :) lookin good

  • @dabeaner12345 Thanks!

  • what excersise did yo do your first week?

  • @ShaCourtney None. I didn't exercise for at least 4 weeks after starting. Unless you are already exercising and feel compelled to continue, you can, but your performance will be less than optimum for the first 2-3 weeks.

  • wow...very inspiring. I've been on atkins for only a week and have lost 7 lbs. Awesome job on the weight loss.

  • @susannamcintyre I am glad I could return the favor...

  • @bowulf I'm sure you don't realize how many people you've inspired. From the bottom of my heart, I'm thankful to the Lord that he put someone on here (youtube) who has done that for me. Wanted to write more but gotta take the wife to run errands!!! Thanks brother!!!! I'd love to ask you some questions in the future.

  • @MrGutterballet79 Ask away I am glad to help any way I can to get others to goal. I appreciate the very kind words and affirmation of my service here on Youtube.

  • Wow. Congratulations! Today is my first day on the diet, im looking forward to watching your other videos for motivation. Its motivating to see you be able to do things that you wouldnt have done if you didnt lose the weight. I feel like I am losing out on so many things that I could be doing just because of my weight. Great job!

  • @nsklors Thank you, and I wish you the best too.

  • It is astounding to lose it like that and then continue the plan and keep the weight off. I also lost over 200 pounds on the Atkin's plan back in 2002 and 03 and just stayed with the low carb life style with plenty of exercise. Never gained it back again. I am 59 now. My congratulations goes out to you many times for staying with it. It is 90% mental and 10% physical.

  • @litedave It is always great to mean another big time loser. There are certainly people that would love to say this way of eating is not sustainable, but yours and my story just run counter to their beliefs. I am personally happy to hear that even another 20 years will have nothing to derail my success. I would definitely agree that after the first week or so, the rest is all mental.

  • You smashed

  • how long did you do induction (phase 1) for?

  • @Javier32101 I did it roughly for 12 months, but that is not necessarily prescriptive for others. Check out my video for how long one should do Induction for perhaps a better answer for how long one should do it, and why what worked for me might not work for someone else.

  • @bowulf Thanks bro if you wanna know a good recipe take chicken thighs put black pepper on them then oven bake them till the chicken is crispy then make a cheese sauce using heavy cream and cheese and melt and you have a good meal if you want make green beans and put the cheese over the green beans you should try it out let me know what you think it is my dads recipe.

  • You look so great, congratulations and God bless. Very inspiring.

  • @RoseEverBlooming Thank you!

  • @bowulf I am thirteen and started out like you because I had broken my leg completely and gained like 90 lbs and me my mom and dad started this diet and we have lost like 100lbs how long did you do the diet?

  • @xxx666riley666xxx Congrats! Honestly, 7 years later I am still doing the diet. It's not exactly like the initial Induction period any longer, and I eat fruits and other low carb items (like nuts). With options like the ones in my recipes videos (low carb donuts, low carb cheesecakes, all the entrees), I don't have much desire returning to my old way of eating.

Good job on your family's success!

  • I'm 5 ft 2, 138 lbs but my belly is nearly 3 ft 1 so that I look like a damn barrel. I need some diet method to cut my fat and your videos really inspire me !

    Thank you so much !

  • @stuang000 I am glad I could provide the same inspiration that others first paid me. Good luck, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

  • I Currently Weigh 300. If I start today, how much pounds do you think i could lose in 2 months with a lot of exercise. Or in a Year? Do you remember how much you lost in the first two months?

  • @Javier32101 I always hate answering these sorts of questions as results are what they are for each person. The short answer is that you'll eventually get to goal, but how soon that is might be 6 months or 2 years. Check out my how much weight will I lose on Induction for more information on this question.

I lost roughly 50 pounds in the first two months, but I didn't exercise for the first month. I would encourage you not to over-exercise, and let the diet do the work.

  • Amazing. I'm just starting Atkins and your story is inspiring.

  • @AirForceGirl05 Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your story! My husband and I just started the Atkins diet last week! We are both very overweight and want to be in our best possible shape for our 6 month old son! I want to be able to chase him around the yard in a couple of months and not be out of breath within a minute! Your channel made me even more excited about this journey!

  • @318jazzy Congrats on making a decision to eat healthier and lose the weight. I would suggest you figure out why you want to lose the weight in concrete visual images, and that way you can use them to battle the cravings that arise. For example for me it was being able to ride on a plane without asking for an extender belt, or ride roller coasters again.

Also find a group of recipes that you want to make. Check out my recipes marked with (IF) for Induction Friendly ones.

  • @bowulf this encourages me...I'm starting induction today as well. I'm scared...afraid I will fail again...I've tried so many diets...I really want this...so I'm starting by faith! Thank you for your video. GOD Bless :O)

  • @Happywinniegirl Just make your plans today for what meals sound good to eat, check out my video for how to start -- it has some tips like getting your pantry in order, and hit the "Can I eat this on Induction video?" It has the list of acceptable foods that you can print off and keep with you. If I can do this after years of failing on other diets, you can do this.

  • When I was 16 I weighed 237lbs and then I went on Atkins for 5 months and at the end I was 160lbs- love the Atkins diet :D

    Now aged 18 I weigh 180lbs:)

  • i loooove your channel! i have made several food items from ur vids.....thanks sooo much! u look great!

  • @heartburn27 Thanks! You are very kind. I am glad my recipes could help as well. It is reports like these that make making videos so worth it.

  • grat job, bro. my wife is currently on atkins, trying 2 drop some weight after our third child. i could lose some weight too. i'm not a fan of carbs to begin with, i love meat. but what about veggies, i thought u r supposed 2 eat as much as possible? should i try it too? i lift (heavy) at the gym, i'm 38 and have a gut now, i used 2 be ripped in my 20's.

  • @secutorclaudius Re: veggies, you are allowed 2-3 cups per day. They aren't unlimited, but then again neither are things like cheese, cream, or even nuts later on. I would highly suggest not skipping on the veggies. As for lifting heavy, I haven't had a problem with my squats or deadlifts since starting Atkins, and of any weight loss plan, it should be preservative of the muscle you do already have.

  • @bowulf thanx! i also drink (alcohol) quite a bit. and coffee everyday, which my wife says it's a no-no. i wish i had a tad more will power.

  • Very inspirational - thank you, this might be what it takes to get me back on track..
