before purchasing any digital drum, i've tried dtexplorer & HD 1, yes its true..dtxplorer has more choice of sound n bigger than HD 1,,,but!~HD 1 sound more real..DTxplorer most plastic sound. i prefer sound than size, size doesnt matter..HD 1 is the best kit for everyone
that's why Yamaha put sound editing feature on dtxplorer. It has about the same sound editing capibility like dtxpress iv
Yeah, it's kind a pain in the butt to tweak it. But you get your own satisfaction after you tweak it. You can tune the snare, reverb, eq, etc.Once you finish, the sound is amazing.Anyway, the stock kit is ain't that bad.Although I admit HD1's stock has better sound.
yeah i just got one of these and they are a great beginner drum kit. I've been playing for 2 weeks and i can actually play some pretty difficult songs
great feedback

r u serious? How can it win?
IMHO,dtxplorer is better than this. It has more sound choice, sound adjusting, a kick pad which accommodates double pedal, and cheaper price.
Also, there are Alesis DM5, MPS400, DD505,etc.

Now, the question is, who is more durable.lol

@ransisua if you had tried each kit and listen to them you should understand why this wins, and ive tried all those kits and i would still pick HD-1
