i know what you mean. avoid using the blade too high up on the face, not higher than the level of moustache. using a tweezer- not a sign of real man but you gotta do what you gotta do to not look like a sasquatch- for those areas will make those hairs thinner and finer in course of time. never use a blade around your cheekbones.

In my opinion, all multi blade razors. The multiple blade razors are marketing strategy. They are cramming 5 cheap blades that will dull easy into a cartridge so they can charge you more money. They also clog with hair. With proper technique and the use of a quality shave soap and brush, you will have a baby butt smooth shave with the Merkur.

Shave soaps/cream by Art of Shaving, Geo F Trumpers, Santa Maria Novella, Valobra. A little pricy initially but they will last you months......as a starter you can try Williams Shaving Soap easily found at CVS or Duane Reade for $2....a quality badger brush is also essentially to soften your beard.

Me, too. It may well be the shaving cream. Try one of the gel types Gillette makes and a multi blade razor... use LIGHT pressure and dont go over the same area more than 2 times. I use Nivea skin conditioner after....it helps

I had this same problem when I was younger. You have to learn the subtleties of how your hair grows. look closely how the hairs on your neck. Softly, shave against the grain at first. Then, rinse with hot water and relather. Then, softly shave in the direction of how the hair is growing. Don't put to much pressure. Then moisturize

Problems with that shave....

1) lather was crap! need more water in that dry foam that was going on there.

2) 3/5 blade nonsense will just give you razor burn and ingrowns for a nice hefty price. Use a double edge razor or a straight razor.

3) "Sounding like a douche bag" commentary aggravates the hair follicles and makes them want to grow inwards until they reach your brain and find a way to kill you.
