  • I like his idea of planning the day ahead of time because I have a hard time of knowing what to do when I wake up. ( I'm a stay at home mom so my schedule is more flexible than those with a job or school on a set schedule) This may help out some of the issues I'm having with time management.

  • One thing I don't understand is the "don't start the day till you have it finished" (Jim has read the bible as he has said.) How can I plan my day when God already planned it for me. (I'm not a "professing Christian" but I consider myself Christian Under Construction.) But I just don't get that one point. If I make a plan for my day, aren't I imposing my will rather waiting on God's will to carry out? That's about the only thing I don't understand. The rest is very agreeable.

  • @BeastNation2009

Well I am not an expert on anything, but the way that I look at is...we can come up with a plan that we feel fits our "destiny", goal, purpose, whatever you want to call it and we can move steadily in that direction. But god will bring up variables, and different circumstances and situations in our day to day life that will shift what we thought our goal or plan was to fit his ultimate goal/plan. That's just my opinion.

  • @BeastNation2009 Unfortunately God does not exist, and we must take responsibility for ourselves. I'm not disrespecting your belief, you're entitled to it, I just feel like you are being unnecessarily trivial. I mean, how can you plan your meals for the week when you go shopping if it might be imposing your will over God's? I'm no expert on religion, but I think you're allowed 'freewill' in Christianity. Just don't make any goals that break any commandments!

  • @eddiehatred We'll all find out (whether or not God exists) when we die. But until then, I'm gonna believe he does exist. Jim Rohn is a Christian (apparently) and has quite a few biblical principals. So I believe that inviting God into your goal planning is a good idea.

  • @BeastNation2009 I totally agree with you! I think it's just whatever works best for the individual though. John Rohn incorporates Christianity into his self improvement because he's a Christian, and if that helps him then I'm glad there's people using their religious beliefs for good. The same obviously goes for you, it's great you find security in it. I just think that you have nothing to worry about with planning 'destiny', strive to be a good person and any decent God will be satisfied!

  • @BeastNation2009 How do you think you'd come up with your own plans? Maybe God is already directing you at this point? He should...

  • @bluescanfly1981 I have no idea. Thats the point. I know God is directing me. But I always hear a rich and powerful person say "make your own goals. Make your own plans." And then 5 minutes later I hear a black person (usually) say "let go and let God." (you know how my people like to use tag lines and slogans and just leave you with that instead of actually talking to you and helping you out.)

  • @BeastNation2009 I m not a very religious person, but Bible does say something about using your talents. Don't let religion become an excuse for inactivity. If we take that God is after our best interest, than for sure He'd promote our development. Religion has a tendency of diminishing the importance of an individual.

Last i heard, God wants us to love our neighbors, we can't truly serve another by not being our best self first. If Rohn has never taken that commitment, we'd all be missing out.

  • @bluescanfly1981 oh I definitely agree. I'm going into the AirForce. That's the door that the Lord has opened for me and I'm gonna run through it!

  • Very inspirational person
