@hazgown Hmm, yeah. I mean it obviously isn't and there are very clear differences but Doctor Who does have a habit of asking the audience for some help with designing things (the Abzorbaloff, anyone?) so perhaps they got the inspiration from that makeshift TARDIS here?

@darthkarr Hmm, I'm not so sure. TARDISes typically have six panels, whilst the one in 'The Lodger' has four, each with no controls except the singular hand panel. It's probably just a coincidence, or Moffat used it as a template to design his own. xP

Has a computer system integrated into the control boxes that runs sound, accepts Ipod by audio hookup. Also has storage space underneath some of the control panels so it also acts as a cupboard for odds and ends.
