Wow, I've tried this myself and it's gotten me over 30k caps and 5k in most ammo types bar missiles, mini nukes and 308 calibur bullets. Though if it's prone to freezing your system, best to save after every few goes.

I do this for aboud 6 hours after lvl 8 and i have 9000 + rounds for every gun

@MrAngemetal this is because your barter skill is low. Even after you do the glitch and the item is fully repaired, if your barter skill is low, you will sometimes sell it for lower than what it's actually worth.

i did this with a broken fatman in new vegas at gun runners with gra and got every weapon free and made 8000 caps.

@kjc0608 sell them the fatman, then buy it back for 0 caps, and when its back in your inventory it will be fully repaired. then sell it back to them for full price and it will be broken again wen its in their inventory. you might have to have another fatman in their inventory i cant remember

you dont have to go to other vendors for example Rivet City. When the vendor is out of caps, go outside, wait untill the next morning and he will have more caps :)

The other thing i like about FO3 is that the wasteland is much better spread out. I mean you can find people in the edge of the map but in NV everything is centered around the strip

i did it, and it didn't work for me, i buy a weapon, the cheapest , and approve the sale and then i sale him the same weapon, and the price is lower than when i bought it, and a have a barter of 29 and well...i cant do this in ps3 i think

U need to do the sale 3-4 time before the glitch works for it. And buy only most expensive weapons or armor, it dont work with low price items.

@darkus714 is not necessary buy another armor or weapon the trick is the same.if the vendor don't have two of a same item ,search for one in a worse condition or better condition than one that is already on sale(for example: look if the vendor have a combat armor,search for a worse condition combat armor and sell it to the vendor that way you can have two items of the same kind for the trick to work)

if you've done the infinite scrap metal cliche and already have more or less unlimited caps you don't need to do the sell and resell process, just buy all any vendors ammo then wait three days, then when all his stock is back buy all the ammo again (rinse and repeat) simples

Take my word for it: this works on all platforms as long as u have Barter 20 or higher.

In New Vegas it might be difficult with lower Barter at Gun Runners, but altogether, it works.

The method does work, but in New Vegas i tried on the vendortron and the value wouldn't grow, so i went ot Blake at the crimson caravan, tried on a half condition manits gauntlet and it worked, but the price only grew from 253 to 663 and stayed the same for the duration of the trade

this is what your doing WRONG, you have to APPROVE it, which means you BUY it, then sell it back, if it's not working your in the MIDDLE OF THE TRANSACTION. you must buy it, so your caps must decrease!

It does work! Note: if you have one of the weapon/armor the Vendor has and its a low condition, sell it! If you do buy the cheepest one and do it this back and forth, you should end up with a mysterious 3rd weapon/armor that is NOT the other 2 that you can buy and is fully repaired. Thumbs

this got patched, only works at mick and ralph and the ex military chick at highway 188, and sometimes they dont have 2 weapons of the same kind, so you have to wait 4 in game days praying they spawn 2 of the same kind. if you try doing this anywhere else you will lose your caps. i loved doing this since fallout 3 days, cant believe obsidian fucked up, fuck osbidian!

@blueblastoiseMK yes it works at 188 and mick&ralph, but the real problem is they dont usually carry 2 weapons of the same kind anymore, its very rare, and if they dont, you have to wait 4 in game days to refresh their stock, even then its a gamble and their is no guarantee their new stock will have 2 same weapons or armor, this is why i deleted update 5, did the primm casino glitch, then redownloaded the patch, now i have 6 million caps.

@blueblastoiseMK that is what confuses me, even after i downloaded OWB, i used this glitch at gunrunners, the sink and every other shop in mojave, but since last 2 days, when i do it, i am losing money, its doing the opposite of what it should, when i buy the cheaper item, its not getting restored to full CND, so when i see it back its selling for the less than i bought, this happened to me in novac, gunrunners, mojave outpost, contreras, except 188 and mick&ralph, something is not right.

@hoodfigga33 Well, Gun Runners NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER has two of the same weapon unless it was a weapon you sold to them which cant be put back to full condition because you sold it to them. Same thing with the sink. Hope this helped. =)
