  • HOLY-SHIT

    *orgasm.!xO

  • Nels Cline is the man.

  • Heard it on the radio, found it on Youtube, bought it, go back to Youtube for the extra words. Never censor this; I paid! (I drink. Don't reply)

  • A very brilliant song.

  • nels cline plays music how i think

  • Best solo ever played, by the best guitarist in the world.

  • so underrated song :(

  • Made me actually pay Wilco for the songs:)

  • @BloggerMusicMan I did really like the solo but Tom Morello's solo on Like a Stone is still my favorite.

  • I disliked this video becaue I can't play guitar as well as Nels Cline OR jeff Tweedy...

  • @4rescue Aw, no worries. It's not a competition with anyone but yourself. How much you can believe in creating your own myth, have courage to share your unabashed self thereby connecting with others on a visceral level? How much time will you dedicate to practicing? Many could cover this song well...but can you carve your own path to connect with people through sound, a reliable resource to call upon to provide emotional outlet for yourself and others?Food for thought. I think Wilco aces it :)

  • Great tune and solo. Tweedy makes absolutely not sense in his answer. Utterly rambling. Love them though.

  • And just -cymbal!- play them and record them. 0:09

  • This is one of the best videos I've seen for a song. Such an honest song with a short explanation that makes it all the more beautiful.

  • The best,, the band.

  • One of the most memorable and beautiful guitar solos ever laid down.

  • wilco es su musica, su propio y unico estilo en la manera y formas de hacer musica,el resto son detalles

  • That guitar solo just makes me feel, I have to stop and absorb it. Most beautiful music I know.

  • wilco rocks!

  • really need to get this DVD!

  • Jeff Tweedy sounds a lot like Paul Westerberg of The Replacements....but LOVE the guitar....he's a brilliant guitarist.....I have their book....interesting how they got together....I love the guitar playing of Nels Cline....he is so unique! makes Wilco's sound so different...

  • I like their live alblum ;D

  • @peteorsi These guys could have made it a lot easier, but they didn't and took it to the road.

  • jeff tweedy is the song writer of our time.. and sky blue sky has some of the most lyrically provoking songs of ALL time on it... great great band..

  • This sounds nothing like a jam band to me.

  • This is music that sounds like Gold. or perhaps... ¿gold that sounds like music?

  • 3 people thought germany was possible

  • "If this is what love is for... to be out of place" Wilco has picked up the mantel of The Dead/Phish and Widespread. Long live the king.

  • just discovered this amazing song ... wow.

  • Nels kills.

  • hope we make it to 2030... anyways what a great song by wilco. It is sad that dumbass viral videos will get more views than a great video like this....

  • love.

  • Boom! Amazing!

  • You can download the audio-mp3 of this clip at grabtubesnow doht cohm.

  • sublime lead...reminds me of Elliott Randall, no?

  • ...ugliest man alive but god damn it he can play!

  • @TheLuciano009 Nyehh, that first part is definitely arguable, but you got the second part absolutely right :p

  • @TheLuciano009 Jeff is a cutie but has always been a faithfully married man.

  • fkng brilliant!

  • A Masterpiece!!!!!!!

  • Every year somebody writes a song that I just can't believe how beautiful it is crafted, played and sung. This was my song of 2007. Fortunately Wilco has three of the best ever in Jesus, Etc..., and " You and I".

  • I heard this song at work like.... 1,000 times. I couldn't figure it out until now.

    Pretty good song.

  • top down, sun shinning and that good good free feeling which these guys just give away. thanks again boys. tweedy big love.

  • well put sam handle! totally agree!

  • nels = win

    grolsch beer straplocks = win

    it's a win win situation!

  • You 2 effers that gave the thumbs down-you are not Wilco fans so suck it bitches!

  • haha...impossible crap is more like it cause this shit is a sure remedy for constipation

  • One of the 10 best songs ever on youtube, as performed here. Achingly beautiful and if you don't feel it then you back across the Street .. yeah .. Street (throwing in a little Arthur Lee of Love's Forever Changes) OK sorry for over-plugging the great unknowns of the world. At least Wilco is pretty well-known.

  • anyone know what type of guitar jeff tweedy is playing? I want one.

  • @SCOKER2100 I was wondering the same thing so I looked it up and the most similar thing I could find was the Epiphone Casino Inspired by John Lennon. I'm not sure if it's the exact same one, but it looks to me very similar. :-) I want it too, but it's superduper expensive. Yuck. :-)

  • @beano3833 Gibson Barney Kessel Custom archtop jazz guitar

  • I think Tweedy is great but not the Beatles Stones or Dylan. Certainly as good as Olds 97 I think this is a great great song but a lot of times they overdue the country songs. Yeah I know that is where they are from but I just rarely hear great country songs. Wilco does the best they can for growing up Country. And anyone who hears this should know the record version is not as good. The band cooks here not there..

  • fucking beutiful

  • wow this band is the best!!!

  • ,¤°´'`°•.¸♥¸.•°´'`°¤,¸.•.(☯‿☯)•.♥,¤°´'`°•.¸♥¸.•°´'`°¤,

  • I got a question: Whats the main message of these lyrics?

  • @Mithradia1986 To my understanding, it relates to what Jeff says at the end...but it kind of changed over time. At first, it talks about Germany/Japan, which is a WWII reference, and the song is basically asking the question about "at what point do you realize that you need to change, and act upon it". Then, eventually it evolved into "when do you wake up from denial", wherever you are in your life and appreciate what you have.

  • This track is better than the CDs .. they should have stopped the presses on this one (and substituted this version).

  • i havent heard many solos that have melted my face this hard in my life time (born in 89'). nels just kicks ass in general and so does jack white (unrelated but necessary.

  • i looooooooooooooooove wilco!!!

  • solo is smooth.

  • Beautiful guitar playing!

  • @Raskolnikhov lol dude thats harsh. If they are so mediocre than why are you watching their vids? Just so you can comment on them harshly? If so, then I'll accept being an idiot, because that's better than having absolutely nothing better to do with my life (like yourself)

  • @whiteroom51

point 1: thank you for admitting that you are an idiot for being a Wilco fan.

point 2: i have better things to do with my life, just nothing better in that 5 minutes I took to make the comment.

  • @Raskolnikhov ahaha.

    Point 1: You are welcome

Point 2: If you dont have anything better to do in that time, I suggest you find some music that you can enjoy, rather than forcing yourself to listen to Wilco if you dont like them. If you want another Alt Rock band to listen to check out Radiohead. Similar in weirdness, and also very good!

  • @Raskolnikhov wow you really missed the purpose what music is about, it about opinion if you dont like wilco then dont watch the video and go back to watever music you listened to before.

  • @emopuppy123456789

lol @ your name. You mad, emo faggot?

  • @Raskolnikhov dude you spelled raskolnikov wrong

  • @Raskolnikhov wow your com back has shock-en me to my core i will never recover

  • @Raskolnikhov hey shutup queer. stop listening to wilco we don't want you

  • @GloriousBasterd

    Ah, another Wilco fanboy.

    Enjoy your elevator music, faggot.

  • @Raskolnikhov Why are you here? Go away. Lady Gaga is playing next door. You just might "get" her.

  • @Raskolnikhov hey at your other comment how are you going to make generalizations like that and call other people stupid. theres allways one douchenozzle who is a dick just for the sake of being a dick

  • wilco is in my opinion the best band in rock right now THE best drummer ever :D tweety is a great vocalist, kline is an amazing guitar player and john stirrat was my inspiration to play bass :D

  • simply my favorite song of all time by any group.

    every note is perfect.

I've seen them live a few times and this song literally brings tears to my eyes. beautiful.

  • How are these guys so unknown? what the heck? I just watched a random show last night with these guys playing a concert.. me and my friend fell absolutely in LOVE with these guys.. I'm buying their CD as I speak lol

  • @justinhardt1 They are hardly unknown. All the obnoxious hipsters here in NYC have adopted them which is a bummer for those of us who are long time fans as they make it impossible to get tickets to shows. One of my favorite shows was in 2000 at Irving Plaza in NYC. We knew the waitress and the door guy so they got us up into the VIP section where we got to see Winona Ryder nodding along to How to Fight Loneliness.

  • Just the best band around today!!!

  • Nels Cline is awesome!!

  • The solo is too simple for Vai,which is why it's so good.

  • Loooooovvveee this sonng :) so chill, and his guitar is so sweet

  • that tone on the guitar solo is amazing <3

  • If anyone can tell me of a greater guitar solo this decade, I'd be surprised.

  • @BloggerMusicMan i know right

  • @BloggerMusicMan Me in my bedroom last night -_^

  • @BloggerMusicMan

I could name a couple of contenders...but it's all Wilco stuff so I don't know if that actually counts.

  • @BloggerMusicMan fictionist has a few songs with solos that can at least compete

  • @BloggerMusicMan Jim James, MMJ, live version of War Begun from Austin City limits or a number of other solo's by him. Buckethead Whitewash (vid is simply titled "bucket plays a balad that builds in intensity) Lots of Tom Morello stuff...they're AS good, but yeah this is one of the best solo's of this decade by far... I've seen Nels Cline live quite a few times in small clubs here in Portland back when he was playing with Scotty Amendola and his ise of the Chaos Pad was UNREAL!!!!! Wilco=SICK!

  • anybody know what amazing shit he is doing at 5:03 ?? i need the chord!!!

  • no you're right... it is a Gibson... he does play a Guitorgan tho... those things are the dope shit!

  • the solo is the perfect example of less is more.

  • @fifthof u couldn't be more right.

  • amazing

  • i just cam

  • haaaaa he hit the symbol

  • Someone know what guitar is using Jeff Tweedy?

  • it's a gibson custom hollow body... forgot which one, but i think it's the Johnny A. Signature custom with a Bigsby (aka: that big whammy bar thing haha)

  • no its not. Its a 1961 Guitorgan.

  • alright my b

  • thanks!

  • it's a barney kessel actually, but nice try old chap

  • Nah it's too big to be a Johnny A, pretty certain it's a Barney Kessel. Gorgeous guitar

  • @motapop I believe it is a Gibson Barney Kessel - they were made in the 60s and early 70s.

  • this is so cool.

  • Great song-can't wait to see Wilco for the first time in February!

  • This song makes me feel good all over

  • seeing em in february, gonna be tight

  • Stop talking about the song and play it!!

  • next time you eat a heavy dose of mescaline listen to this album....it will blow your mind!!!

  • Jay Bennett would be proud...

  • Agreed

  • This song brings me to my knees every time. Another version, removed by the user, which was my prior favorite. (I believe it was from Jeff's old living room on Dakin Ave.) This one captures the intimacy that hits me in the heart. Where'd you get it? (Kedzie Ave rehearsal space?) THANK you for this.

  • This is one of Wilco's best songs and it has one of the best guitar solos of all time. Fabulous.

  • @nquoirin the only bad thing is that you said it's Fabulous, ur fabulous, this song is fucking good. fag

  • @tzhme i'm sorry, what do you mean?

  • @tzhme

    Are you always this anal?

  • Incredible songwriting and awesome musicians. I heard this song for the first time today and had goosebumps all over. And over. And over.

  • I just saw them at McCarren Pool in Brookyn. They are THE best band playing. I am 56 and I've seen the Stones 23 times, Springsteen over 10 times Dylan over 10 times and hundreds of other shows from the Filmore East to Woodstock one, The concert for Bangladesh, Dylan and The Band, Old 97s, Ryan Adams, etc. This was one of the 5 best shows I have ever seen. Tweedy is a genius. If Tweedy had been around in the 60s, we'd be talking about him the way we talk about the Beatles, Dylan, Hendrix...

  • you lucky bastard ;)

  • Good insight.... im mulling over this and i have mixed thoughts. I wanna say give it some time and people WILL talk about them like the greats youve mentioned, but sadly i think you are right. Civilization is peaking on a trend of decadence, and the creativity of these musicians you mention just isnt appreciated anymore. These things come in waves.

  • true

  • @samhandle lucky you i was born in the wrong era...

  • @samhandle Was at that show - it was an excellent show - too bad McCarren Pool isn't a venue anymore.

  • @samhandle Can't say I'm going to argue with yo, seen 'em play in New Zealand twice, both times they were spee-len-did.

  • @samhandle I completely agree with an I think we will be talking about Tweedy in the class of Springsteen, Dylan etc.

  • jejeje.... I never saw Wilco Live, but I belive you!!!!

  • @samhandle Agreed.

  • @samhandle Tweedy would have been Daltrey and Nels would have been Townsend

  • @samhandle im a fetus and all my frends listen 2 justin beiber but i think wilco is betr! IM COOL

  • @samhandle What a wonderful comment!

  • @samhandle You mean: in 2030, we will talk about Jeff Tweedy the way we talk about The Beatles...

That's a nice compliment, but the comparisons are impossible to support.

  • Absolutely one of the few top bands performing. Always interesting to see how Jeff has explored and grown artistically throughout his career. This heavy-guitar lineup looks to have a cohesiveness I expect to last for several years.

  • Having never seen Wilco live, it's interesting to see how differently Nels takes the solo here. I always forget to pick up this DVD.

  • Nice Song <3

  • yeah this song and this entire album are on a higher plane in terms of music for me, wilco became one of my favorite bands after this album was released.

  • febr33ze....SAME HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Peace and radiance from Aotearoa, (New Zealand.)

  • very cool radio in the background .!. ...i just love this song .....

  • I can't get this guitar solo outta my head! Jeff Tweedy and Nels Cline make this tune the new album's strongest track. Check WILCO out LIVE!!!

  • I don't care if some people think this song is a wank-a-thon -- I love all these guitar solos. Thanks for posting; I bought the vinyl of "SKB" so didn't get the DVD.

  • agreed.. these guitars absolutely crush me <3
