@mistertrailerpark1 Michael Jackson isn't even in the same class as Elvis or Lennon, don't be daft. Jackson created a great album in thriller and a good album in Bad, but everything else was either poor or lukewarm (I'm talking about his solo career)
Oh and Lennon's death was definitely a bigger shock, on the account that he wasn't particularly controversial or weird in his final years. (That and he was only 40, and was murdered)

@LynkJDL Although I do agree that John Lennon is probably a lot more influential than Michael Jackson, you can't forget how shocked the world was when Michael died. Sure he was a bit weird, but did you see what his daughter said when he died? Not only that, but a lot of people killed themselves after MJ died as well. Although I like the Beatles better I'm just saying that Michael probably does belong up there with Elvis and John Lennon... and George Harrison :B

@longhairdontcaregurl The Beatles are the best selling band/artist in the history of popular music, not only that but they were infinitely more inventive and creative than Jackson. I don't dislike Jackson, but he's definitely been blown out of proportion in these past 3 years. He made 2-3 good solo albums and everything that followed was shite mostly. Granted Thriller is a masterpiece, but he's not in the same class as Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Hendrix, Elvis and so on. He's below them.
