Really nice!- I'm trying to use oil paints~ I keep reading that oil paint needs to be thinned out with linseed so on... can't it just be painted on straight out from tube? did u thin out anything? with your layers? also while doing layer do you need to wait for it to really dry out to make another layer or can it be sticky wet before painting again? & how long would u normally wait for the layer to dry before painting again?.... thanksss
I wanted to know how he got the mountain done. From what I watched it went from just plain black, right to the mountain all done! Beautiful mountai, but I wanna know how he didi it :D
yes, when the paint is still not dry the colors tend to blend with each other a bit. You might want to wait a day before you put on new layers that you dont want blending in with each other.
oh my god! a new post! :) god, that's beautiful. and music to my ears. sooo glad to see another one of your potential masterpieces. i watch your other stuff over and over. never fails to amaze me.

are you thinning the paint or not?
zimmy81 2 years ago
the only time I thin my paint in this video is when I apply the highlights to the grass and to the trees.

is there an advantage in letting the layers dry first?
fluterific00 2 years ago
Yes because if you don't use the fat over lean way and you don't let the bottom layers dry first, your top layers might crack
postaldude2250 2 years ago
ok, thank you. I'm teaching myself to paint.

Always enjoyed the wet-on-wet technique.
I've even used it when I moved away from
painting landscapes. Nice work.
Peace.

Do you paint your works like in one marathon or do you let it dry after paintting one part of it? That's damn great work.
zeromuza 3 years ago
I paint most of my paintings before they dry
thanks for the comment
